Make sure it is compatible and installed correctly. Make sure the connections from the vacuum to the battery are matched and securely attached. If all of these suggestions are checked, and it still doesn't work send it back.

I have the E25 and it fit snugly. Doesn't flop around or anything. It plugged right it no problem. Make sure the wires are the same color order and it is within measurements and it should work. I don't think there is much difference between the E20 and the E25 but do some research and measure the battery compartment and make sure the plug is compatible (which is what I did) and you should be good to go. If not ship it back. Its worth a shot for an expensive vacuum to be able to use it again.
