MashaAllah
Easily the most anticipated Eid al-Adha book to come out this year, the book does not disappoint. Following the episode, the book, is 32 pages and while ok for ages 3 and up, like the show, it really is geared to children able to grasp the math concepts presented. The book's story is that it is Eid al-Adha, and Peg and Cat are learning about it with their friends Yasmina and Amir. The holiday facts don't seem forced and words like hijab. oud, and Eid Mubarak, are integrated naturally. The concept of giving charity, giving to those with LESS, becomes the set-up for learning about more than, and less than. A few pages later the tradition of dividing meat into three parts: one to keep, one for friends, and one for the poor, sets up a lesson on fractions and using a pan balance. The really big problem, involves moving crates. They count down from seven to calm down, and then use all their lessons learned to solve the problem and help a neighbor. The illustrations are straight from the show in all their adorable glory, I'm not sure why Yasmina has some strange tree branch looking loose hairs poking out of the top of her scarf. I love that the page numbers are math problems (2 +1=3 for the 3rd page). And the hardback with slip cover workpages on the underneath side, are a nice treat. I was especially greatful the picture on the slip cover is the same as on the book, so the cover can be discarded, as will ultimately occur with multiple readings.Books like this are great ways to introduce an Islamic tradition to non Muslims in a non preachy, non threatening way. By seeing beloved characters with Muslim friends helps shape perceptions and increase understanding, inshaAllah everyone wins, alhumdulillah.

Awesome
I purchased the hardcover book since the paperback was selling out fast and the delivery date was going to fall after Eid al Adha. Received this just in time and it was in perfect condition. It’s a gorgeous book: the cover jacket and book pages are a nice thick weight paper, reminiscent of the good ole 1990’s library books I would check out as a kid. Actually that was my first thought, that I should laminate it like a library book to preserve its pristine condition. Anyways, the story itself is great too. My kids have watched the Eid al Adha episode so they’re familiar with it, but I bought the book to reinforce their learning and add to our little home collection. Not only does it present the Muslim holiday and what it is but also presents math concepts (as it is primarily a math learning tv show). It also helps children understand how to greet a person celebrating this holiday and sharing the joy and cheer. Highly recommend it for all classrooms and libraries (and homes)!

Loved!
I was really excited to find this book, because there’s a dearth of children’s literature around Eid Al-Adha, the second larger Muslim holiday. What attracted me further were the familiar characters from the Peg + Cat show. The illustrations are impeccable. In terms of the story line, it’s simple, and covers the basics without much detail about Eid Al-Adha (such as hajj, the pilgrimage to Mecca.) The focus is on the shared meat and how to split it, and focusing on giving instead of receiving.I found the book most appropriate for a public library and Public school setting. For Muslim children it doesn’t go into as much depth, but it is still exciting for them to hear about their holiday by familiar characters. The book also links a fun eid music video from the show which my three-year-old and Kindergarten both enjoyed.

Engaging illustrations and a sweet story
A book form of the Eid al Adha episode. It is a sweet story that uses the charity of Eid al Adha to teach about the importance of taking care of your community, and actively looking for members in your community who might be hungry. It also teaches fractions, greater than/less than, and scales. It contains a link to a clip of the episode. The full episode can be found on the PBS Kids app.

Cute, educational, & fun!
I LOVE this book! This show is one of my favorite childrens show of all time. So cute! I love that not only does it teach my boys about math but it teaches them the importance of a very special holiday we observe as muslims. This book is great for muslim and non muslim children alike! It gives them important information to understand the meaning of this holiday while teaching them in a fun mathematical way!

Not Good for Muslim Households
It's a cute story. And I love that math was added to it. However it heavily focuses on music which is haram in Islam. I understand the show isn't an Islamic show, but when representing our faith it is so important to accurately represent it. The book even includes a link to the music from the show... Just not really helpful for a Muslim household.

Problem Solved :)
I'M TOTALLY FREAKING OUT! We've waited to read this book for a while now. No better time than on Eid-Aladha. The book was very well written, and yet simple. The Islamic aspect was accurate and on point without being too preachy. Very colorful , and catchy.Overall amazing.

Very good book.
A nice and smart book to teach math and Idul Adha at the same time. Especially for Peg + Cat fans.

A fun mathematical adventure that's relatable for Muslim kids!
Great book mixing faith and science! Would love to see some kind of geometric version for the future. But was truly impressed by the though put into it and the new approach to Eid al Adha which is often overlooked! Thank YOU Peg + Cat!

Beautiful book
Great book but not sure about the stereotype of certain dress types for girl and boy. I guess we need more books to showcase all what people from certain backgrounds wear everyday to diversify. Overall lovely book and recommend.
