Restless DVD Based Study Kit: Because You Were Made for More Product Bundle – January 28, 2014

It's a great study! Love the study guide, dvds, & question cards!

150 + women from our church are going through Restless right now and loving it. Our age ranges from early 20's to early 80's.. It is neat to see how each woman gets something different out of it every week, especially due to all of the different life stages in the room. The format with Jennie teaching during the video is something that is different from her other studies we have previously done and LOVED I might add (Chase and Stuck) - so that took a little getting used to for those who had done her other studies. The feedback overall has been that women are LOVING the teaching from Jennie in this manner. She is gifted.The first lesson (God's Story) was really powerful for many women as we dug into some passages in Hebrews that clearly showed what God is asking of us - faith. This study does a great job at setting the groundwork of God's truth before diving into more "digging into your own soul" type work as the study progresses. The women are loving the life of Joseph and learning completely new things about his life and calling. Jennie leads from a real and honest place. A friend recently said about Jennie "She says things we all think and feel but rarely admit, much less say out loud". This study has been freeing for so many as they've realized that their struggles to dream are actually much more common among women than they had a clue.The format of the study is wonderful. You read thoughts from Jennie and dive into scripture during the week and complete a few projects. You then come to your group's meeting and discuss/ watch a video. You then use the conversation cards which are AWESOME and one of the neatest things about this study - the conversations just go deep, and it happens quick. Through all of those different ways of studying, you really learn and you are blessed by others' perspectives as well.If you will be going through this with a larger group, I would really encourage you to break into as small of groups as possible. Jennie recommends this and I could not agree with or support that more. The more time you can have, the better.I highly recommend this study. It has been life changing.

I was blessed to receive an advanced copy of this book while attending Allume and once I heard that there was a Study Kit with a workbook and DVDs, I knew this was a must have! We went through this Restless study in my small group, as well as in an online group - and the material is so powerful... simple in how Jennie walks you through your own story... opening your eyes to your own threads and then stepping back, allowing God to show you how He has been weaving it all together - the good and the bad - to tell a story with your life. There were chapters/DVD sessions that were hard... only because they walked you back through your own history, but there was so much fruit from it and all along the journey, Jennie Allen has this way about her. She makes you feel loved... safe... she makes you see and believe that truly, you WERE made for more!I loved the DVDs - so artfully and beautifully done and the workbook was full of activities that helped to bring it all together. We used the cards here and there but what I loved most about the study is how it opened us up for real conversations, real connecting, and real healing.I highly recommend this study whether you go through it on your own (but oh how I hope you won't! I hope you will find at least one friend to travel with on this journey!) or if you use it to lead a small group! I know I have already planned to use it again in a small group and I will refer back to it for my own personal use as well!Speak Life. Be Love. Shine On.~Karrilee~

There are times throughout when scripture was introduced in the video that was not carried out in the group discussion. For example the discussion on gifts used 1 Cor. 12 with the wonderfully descriptive text on spiritual gifts but as she concluded the video she suggested that if you were over 20 and did not yet know your calling to ask your parents or friends and they will easily direct you to your strengths. There was no suggestion of allowing the Holy Spirit to speak into us what our calling was nor was there an avenue by which to discover our spiritual gifts. I believe that left the impression that our spiritual gifts were found in our calling (or visa verse) I think my disappointment was that I believed this study would take us deeper into the Lord and instead it was a great beginners course.

I liked this Bible Study but it didn't seem to have a end point as her other studies did. For the ladies that hadn't done a Jennie Allen study before, they loved this study. The rest of us who had done her "Stuck" and "Chase" studies, this wasn't our favorite.

We're not done BUT the kit is amazing. We hsve the book too - some of us and honestly you can do this study without the DVDs and question cards. The book and the study guide will do the trick!

It's Jennie Allen at her best on the DVD. Our study group really like the chapter on Suffering and we had a great discussion. Some of the chapters have redundant questions but I would still highly recommend this study.

This Restless study is not difficult to do, but does challenge us to live life to the fullest in the place God has put us with the people He has put in our paths.Definitely causes one to think of the where and who of our lives. It is easy to facilitate as a leader since it comes with leader's guide and DVD. We aren't quite finished with our study but are enjoying it and each other as we work through the lessons together. I recommend this study for women of all ages.
