This was great for a lab I did with my students in class.

This is definitely a home owner product. Reading is very close but I have had some inconsistent readings at first. Had to get used to new shade values.

I'll start off with i cant believe how cheap this stuff is in a larger quantity. I have a large pool and I constantly check my PH with this. I have the PH strips and the PH probe, but this honestly is the quickest and easiest way to monitor PH; the digital PH meter and strips i use every so often to confirm my reading. Keep in mind this stuff will last only 2-3 years from when it was manufactured, however i also use this to as a leak detector. I will not buy the fancy overpriced pool leak dye detector kits. I fill up a blank syringe with this and i have an almost infinite supply, and it does not stain or affect my pool, but is thick and concentrated enough to act as a solid detection fluid. On another note, i would say, from what i have used in the past this stuff ranks an 8/10 for concentration, second only to the Taylor phenol red, but i prefer blue Devil for the value, versatility and i find not having it super concentrated, at least to me, makes it easier to read the color. I will also say i have used bromine in the past in lieu of chlorine and you definitely need to make an adjustment...the indicator will test anywhere from .4 to .8 ph higher than the actually PH, which is normal when using bromine and phenol red as reagent.

There are no directions on the product. It appears to be too concentrated. Using it to test PH in a spa. Test was way off!
