Mirror image takes getting used to
I got used to a camera with an articulating screen. That should say it all, really.I put this device on a Powershot sx500 to protect the screen from fingers and give me back some of the angling I'd gotten used to with an articulating screen. It does what it promises; gives you a mirror image of your screen at an angle that would otherwise make the screen unviewable, and protects the screen from dirt and damage. It is useable with a screen film if you apply the film around it rather than under it. It's designed to be applied to the edges of your screen so if you apply it over a film it will peel the film off with use; which defeats the purpose of both. I didn't give it 5 stars because I don't like the mirror image. It's disorienting due to it being viewed at an angle. Still, it's better than nothing when trying to take a picture of something from a vantage that doesn't let you put your eye where you can see the screen. And it's a great screen cover if you have any worry over impact or scratch damage. Worth the price just for that.

Did not live up to expectation
Firstly too small for the LCD of the camera I wanted to use it with, that was probably my fault so I'll take that on the chin. Regardless after attaching it to the screen with the self adhesive strips, this junk detached itself from the screen every time I went to open it. I threw it away.

Pretty good, usable and economical
It's serviceable and does what I thought it would. I had pretty low expectations, and while this isn't quite as nice as using a waist-level viewfinder, it lets me frame an image I otherwise would not be able to get.

Surprisingly useful, and amazing customer service!
ORIGINAL REVIEW September 24, 2011:I had bought this product somewhat skeptically, and when I got it, I realized that the angles at which I had intended to open the mirror (90 degrees) obviously would not work! Duh! So I was even more convinced that I had probably wasted $15. I tried to use it on a recent vacation to the Canadian Rockies, and found little use for opening the mirror to the side. However, what surprised me was when I was taking some low angle shots, with the camera very close, or even on the ground. After playing with the angles a bit, I was able to adjust the mirror so that I could see the full picture on the LCD quite comfortably. Combining this with a Gorillapod, really paid off in getting interesting angled shots. It's definitely worth the money. It seems to be flimsy, but for its purpose, I think it is adequate.FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE (February 2, 2013):I have had it on my camera for about a year and a half. It has held up extremely well in that time. I wanted to remove it and put it on a new camera, which, according to their website, sounded feasible. When I removed it, the adhesive strip wasn't very sticky any more, so, I asked them if they would send me new adhesive strips, as per their website. I just received a package from them, which contained, not just an adhesive strip, but an ENTIRE flipbac angle viewfinder! Now that's way beyond backing up (no pun intended) your product!

Good idea in theory, but ineffective in practice
I bought this to be used with my Olympus E-M1, to increase the LCD's range of motion, since the E-M1 is limited to flipping up and down at roughly 45 degree angle.Almost everything about this product was fine, except for the part of the frame that has the adhesive. The frame simply does not stick to the LCD strong enough to allow even very slow and careful movement--it'll just come off whenever you apply a little bit more force or go a tiny bit faster when flipping the mirror. I took extra care in applying the adhesive frame to a well-cleaned LCD, put a heavy book on it for 24 hours to secure the adhesion, yet it didn't make any difference--the damn thing still came off quite easily.Another problem is how easily bent the frame is--it's really cheap plastic, and you can accidentally bend it without even really trying.I wish it would have worked, but oh well. It's better to just choose cameras with fully articulated LCDs if possible.

Nifty tool for odd angles
This one of those , "Why didn't anybody think of this before?" type gadgets. You already should have figured out that this will allow you to see the camera's screen even while holding it right above your head and against a barrier (or people) or down low near flowers or pets. That's very useful. I also have used it to take candid pictures without anybody noticing, since no one has seen me bring the camera up to my eyes. I'm sure that they'll catch up soon. The flipBac also protects your camera screen when not in use. That's a nice added benefit.Don't expect the same view that you would get from an articulated screen. That would be asking a lot! Of course, the mirror gives a "mirror" image" and it also introduces keystoning distortion at some angles but you get to see enough to frame adequately. In order to make it unobtrusive and light, the flipBac was not made exactly rugged, so don't expect to be rough with it. Then again, you shouldn't be too rough on your digital camera either.

Don't waste your money -I did.
it just get's in the way and the mirror will never give you any useful view. Four more words to end this.

In theory it sounded like a good idea
I bought this as I was really missing the tilting screen of my Sony RX100 on my Fuji X100. In theory it sounded like a good idea, but in reality not so much. The best comparison I can make would be like a gamer trying to play a game with the 'Invert Controls' option set to the opposite of their preference - everything is backwards, making it difficult to compose - especially in a situation where you're trying to be quick. Not a bad product, just didn't work for my application...

L'image est inversée
Mauvaise surprise qui rend l'accessoire inutilisable pour qui souhaite avoir une visée précise.L'image est bien là, mais inversée, ce qui suppose de multiples acrobaties afin de pouvoir cadrer.

Easy to fit and does the job
For ages I have been getting muddy knees when I've attempted to get low angle shots with my compact camera. This stick on mirror has solved the problem. It was very easy to fit and once on it was possible to get effective low angle shots without kneeling down. The mirror is optically very good and altogether it is a well made accessory, which, once fitted, looks as though it is part of the camera, rather than an add-on. It also acts as a screen protector when not in use. As one or two other reviewers have mentioned, the image is of course upside down, which takes a little bit of practice to get used to, but it's not too much of a problem

Really useful bit of kit
I bought this for my Panasonic LX-3 and it really extends the usefulness of the camera. You have to get used to the upside down image but it makes it very easy to take pictures from low or high angles. On the LX3 it cuts off a tiny bit of the edge of the screen in 3:2 or 16:9 mode but that's not a problem. And it protects the screen too. Easy to fit, good value and well designed.
