A Good Start
I found Wrestling for Dummies a good start in educating myself to understand the sport of wrestling. I had never paid much attention to wrestling until my grandson started the sport. While watching a match it is virtually impossible to understand how points are achieved with the exception of when a pin occurs. This book greatly helped after reading it in understanding the point system. It also helped me to distinguish the type of wrestling seen on TV and the type used at the high school and college levels. One does not resemble the other.

Very helpful
The book is filled with a ton of information. It's actually a little overwhelming. I am a mother of two boys and I no nothing about this sport ;) this book was helpful. Although, I won't be refereeing matches anytime soon it is helpful :)

Great book! Got it for my 10 year old who started wrestling this year. It has definitely helped along with the hands on practice of course. He is able to apply what he has read in practice and in the tournaments.

Great book with good techniques but be warned this is really aimed at the US market in that a fair portion of the book covers rules & regulation for US collegiate wrestling along with advice for the parents of kids entering in to the sport of wrestling. None the less, it is still worth having as basic foundation reference material. To be honest I have quite a few wrestling books and I've yet to see one that is really really good. The one that I think should be used as a 'model' would be Randy Coutures Wrestling for Fighting (Victory Belt publishing) although that is more Greco Roman than freestyle so doesn't feature any floor reversals, sit out's, granby rolls and so on.Maybe Henry could release an intermediate to advanced book showing more techniques etc?

Thorough to the pojnt of boring which is a good thing
Everything you need to know about the foundations of wrestling. Rules, gear, diet, preparatory training everything. If you want to start wrestling and deed awritten reference: this is woth considering. if you are generally interested in MA and you anrt a source on wrestling, the this is your book. When I say thorough to the point of boring which is a good thing, then i mean that the author is that acurate.
