My Big Wimmelbook―Fire Trucks!

We LOVE Wimmelbooks and have this one, the Construction one, the Cars one, and the Farm one. This one is still good, but has less variety, and captures my son's attention less. My son really started enjoying these books at about 1.5 years old, and because they are only pictures, it requires a lot of talking and noticing. We sat together, looking at Wimmelbooks often, and his language skills improved so much!

Though this book lacks the variety of other wimmelbooks, it does focus on firefighters which is what we currently needed. We had a fire nearby, had to evacuate, and the kiddos were having nightmares about it. We used this book to focus on how the firefighters saved us and did a great job. Now the kids are in a much better mental space. My one big complaint about the book was the the characters were hard to distinguish between and thus hard to find in the scenes. In particular, we found it hard to determine where the two friends were from being Daniel or other characters.

We LOVE the wimmelbooks! This is our 4th one! My 3-year old and I can spend hours looking at these books and they never get old. We make up stories and narratives and try to find something new each time we look at the book, which isn't hard to do! I can't wait for their next one to come out :)

I like Wimmelbooks plenty fine (and my 3 year-old loves them). Some of my favorites are by the same author (the construction and farm books are stellar)! This one's just... bleh. Most of the scenes are too busy, and the little stories you can find just aren't as interesting. Some of the situations are really inscrutable, and the little easter eggs just don't pop. If you're already a big Wimmel fan and have a kid who loves fire trucks, then sure, give this one a go. But if this is your first one, I'd strongly recommend the construction site or farm book first.

Hi, I love these books however just realized (because we have the others) that the firetruck book is missing the first pages introducing characters for kids to find, and it has two duplicate scenes on different pages. Def a misprint, not sure if it’s all or just the copy we received. Is it possible to get a new one sent that’s correct?! I’m happy to send pictures of the misprinted one we received.

Good book! We love these books and the artwork that they contain. We already have many in the series and will continue to purchase more. Also love that they are a thicker book. Anything to help prevent a toddler from ripping the pages is appreciated!

My kids like it very much and we almost collect the full series. There're a lot of things and scenes to discover. Kids hold it every day even at bedtime and are eager to find the interesting parts in each page.

My boys love these books. There are so many things to look at and they never get tired of looking at them. They are great for language development if you talk about all the things you see in the pictures.

Highly recommend. The illustrations are very detailed and you find something new each time you look! My 2.5 year old little guy can quietly “read” these books by himself for 30 minutes which is well worth it for the silence.
