Fashion Illustration for Designers, Second Edition

This book will help to everyone who wants to learn fashion designs. Illustrations are awesome indeed, great content. At the same time, the quality of book itself is extremely poor for such price. The paper is very thin, the quality of printing is bad, the binding inside is just horrible and will break soon enough. I do not recommend to buy paper version of this book. The price is too huge comparing to poor quality, doesn't worth such money. I do not understand how it can be so expensive with such bad paper, also illustrations are mainly white and black, not color. Looks like it was just printed on home printer and bound cheap way, I hope e-book will be released, it will be much more useful, because, as I said, content is really awesome, the author did a great job, though bad book quality just kills all good impressions. I am very disappointed.

I haven't had the chance to sit down and really study or practice the methods in this book, but as an experienced, busy costume designer who rather hates the tedious rendering process with paints, the idea of nearly mess-free, mostly marker based rendering is quite exciting! I ordered a large set of markers which are on the way and I can't wait to get started!From what I've seen just looking through this book and DVD, I consider it a must have for fashion and costume designers alike. But it should be noted for costume designers new to the field that proportions of the human body are typically done more accurately for renderings in costume design as compared to fashion renderings which elongate and "stylize" the human body. The materials are perfect for learning to render different types of materials, skin tone, hair, etc., but if you are a costume designer reading this, I strongly advise you to learn how to draw the human body appropriately.

I was so very happy with this purchase. Not only did I get an exceptionally clean used title, it came with the DVDs which are clean and work!!! This is a wonderful company with whom I will do more business with in the future. Amazon chose well to allow these folks to be a part of their umbrella.

Great book.

Excellent for artists who want to learn fashion design art. It is written well, has wonderful illustrations, and comes with 2 CDs of videos of the artist creating her illustrations.

Saw it in the school's library and liked it. It is useful for any level. The content is great!

This was an excellent purchase, I got a heavy ring binder with a CD. I was able to enlarge some of the pictures to show my students details from 9 head figures. Good information for those interested in learning about fashion design. Excellent book
