Reccomended for use with ML and Canon cameras.
There certainly is a noticeable difference in volume when used with the ML canon cameras. I have tested extensively with and with out, I do recommend this adapter for monitoring with a good set of headphones.

Way too expensive.
This cable does the job but costs way more than it should. Similar cables have been crafted for iPhone and Blackberrys' 4-prong 3.5mm jacks, and they run less than 5 dollars.
