Rustic Genuine Leather Pencil Roll - Pen and Pencil Case - Dark Brown

This is a great pencil case that I happen to stumble upon because I was looking for one that did not use a zipper. It is easy to unfold and you have access to all your desired pen/pencils.There is a space to put papers, books, and extra lead inside the main pocket and the one small pocket. The cord is extra long so you can trim it if you wish. Once the leather softens up, it is even better. A lot of people will comment on this because of the leather.For size reference, you can fit two Bic pens side by side (cap off) into one of the slots. You can also fit two Pentel mechanical pencils (.2, .3, .5) side by side in the same slot. I measured a cap that was 1/2" in diameter and it seems to be pushing the max, so do not slot anything bigger than this in my opinion.People love this pencil case even though it is old fashion and has no zipper. I bought it three times already, I gift this item to others often and they love. It is simple, elegant, and it works.

I purchased one 3+ years ago and was very pleased. Leather was a bit thin and inconsistent but no dealbreaker. I used it often until a broken ice pack leaked on it and destroyed the leather. Didn’t hesitate to buy an exact replacement and when it came I was pleasantly surprised to find that the quality had improved dramatically. Leather this time is at least twice as thick and very consistent. It looks like a product that might cost three times as much. I am so impressed that this company has listened to customer feedback. I know if I avoid ice packs I’ll get at least a decade out of it. Smells great, too.

I really like the quality of the pencil/pen roll. I am currently using it to hold my collection of fountain pens. However the leather is a bit think and as in other reviews and comments, the pockets aren't very deep; they're only sown on the top inch to inch and a half. The rest off the pocket is open towards the bottom. Not a problem for me.But because the leather is thick and not very pliant or stretched, as you put pens in, the roll starts to buckle in on the front. I'm just finding that the design is great when you don't have anything in the pockets but lacking as you fill them. I do like the wide pocket as I can store extra ink cartridges there.Overall I'd give this just under four stars. If it had more give and could flex a bit more, I'd say it was great. Very classic design and does protect my pens without squashing anything.

this is a great way to keep up with your pens, pencils and business cards. i have a couple pens that are expensive, this is the best way i have found to not only store them in my bag but find them easily when i need one. just pull out of my messenger bag and i can see what i have and pic what i need. no more digging around for the pen you want. it also helps me keep up with pens that are gifts from my children. the ones you never want to lose. the leather is good, i wouldn't say outstanding but certainly worth the price. mine seems to be well constructed so no quality issues and mine is packed. i highly recommend. i will be getting my boys one for their school back packs to help them keep up with their stuff. i highly recommend.

Overall nice quality, but a little misleading.The stitching in the open pictures leads one to belive that each of the pencil slots has an individual sleeve for the pencils. In reality the backing only goes down about a 1.5 inches and the rest is hanging out in the same back pocket.This might not be a problem if youre using them for just pencils and other things you dont care if they get messed up in the back, but if you bought it to have some nicer pens and pencils in it then make sure that you dont put anything that might mess up your pens in the open back pocket since it will be loose and rubbing on the pencils in the slots.Its honestly a bit dissapointing since now I can either choose to have my favourite pens/pencils in the slots but nothing else in the back or just use it for general supplies.Update 9/26Some of the stitching has come undone already which is a shame. Perfectly usable still but I wonder what the durability will be if its already coming apart with little use.

Great art tool kit

Not a huge fan. The pen/pencil slots are not full length, and do not offer much protection from rubbing each other. The description says "roll", but it is sewn flat. It comes trifold as in the picture, but even that causes some gathering of material in the middle parts. Cannot truly roll up since sewn flat, when rolled up material "bunches up" in the middle and causes a mess of things. The top flap is not designed/sewn to flip down over the tops of the pens, so when rolled up the pens simple fall out the end.The leather, while "genuine", is junky, with almost a "pleather" look and feel to it. Rather than brushing out a scratch, a snap on my bag caught some of the "leather" and pulled it, leaving a tear that I can only describe as looking like "delamination". I have only had about a week or so, therefore I don't see this lasting more than a couple or few months. Stitching is decent. I was looking for something to store my fountain pens in my messenger bag that would last a very long time and achieve a nice "patina" of use. Doesn't fit that bill, so still in the market.

I have never owned a roll-up pencil case. I just happened to stumble across this when I was looking for a regular pencil case. I saw it and new I had to have it. It arrived quickly and I was very impressed. I can fit two of my art pencils in each slot. I had twelve art pencils so I had an extra slot that I put colored pencils in. The back is open so I thought I would try putting the rest of my twelve colored pencils in it. They fit nicely and you don't have to clip them to the front. I also have two charcoal sticks two erasers and two pencil sharpeners in it and it still rolls up wonderfully in thirds.I love the look and feel of this case and it smells like leather - AWESOME!!!!! I hope to enjoy this case for years to come. I can't wait for it to age and take on the quality of beautiful worn leather.
