one of the best
Hello all, ive just got this after many years of waiting for a second hand copy, the prices were beyond reason but now we have a new updated version. Ive just spent the last 5 hours going through this and im impressed with the content and layout, loads of info plus loads of first hand accounts. Well researched from prime sources, amazing. If you are looking for a photo book this is not for you , although it does go amazingly well with Panzers in Berlin from the Panzerwrecks people,if you have both books you have a treat to look forward too as they both compliment each other, well thats all ,back to the book.

Hitlerjurgen, Brave but what a waste of young lives.
This book by mr Hamilton is probably the best book on this subject, The detail & memories are just the best, not much is missed including the battle of seelow heights which was so important to the overall battle , He also points out that the leaders of the german fighting troops did not want to fight in the city, The red army alsomade a huge mistake of sending tank armys to fight in a huge metropolis, did they not learn anything from the likesof stalingrad, budapest & many other citys they fought for, This is why they suffered more casualties than almostany other battle on the eastern front, This will become the book to go to for this battle.

Outstanding
The best researched book on the subject, full of detail and photos. It explains how poorly defended Berlin was. The lead up to it, all battles and does it great depth with out getting bogged down. It makes other books about the battle of Berlin look shoddy.

Berlin struggle
accounts reported day by day until the end of the Berlin battle.the map booklet is very useful to follow the main book text and pictures.the "seelow heights" battle tactics choice by germans in different resistance lines is very well explained.I learn some things about this battle: the lake landing of the Bv138 inside Berlin the last days of the battle and the importance of the 3 "Flak towers" in the defence.the testimonials of the last german living, at the end of the book, are grippinga mandatory book for anyone who want to read and learn about this battle !!

Still reading this....
This is a mammoth book with an addition for maps (that isn't explained well at all). If you have an interest in the last months of the war or Berlin in the last days, this is an excellent book however it is far to big and there is no reference to the separate map book, I keep going to the map book trying to find out were I am in the reading of the main book. Overall a great book.

Nearly great
Great book but let down by poor proof reading . Can’t understand why such an excellent product is flawed by such a simple oversight.
