Great water dispenser, well worth buying
Prior to buying this Brio water dispenser we owned a Primo brand dispenser (also purchased from Amazon) we were pretty happy with it, for the most part. Over the past few years the primo has developed a taste I didn't care for, but no one else in the house seemed to notice or care. I tried cleaning it with vinegar and water flushes and dilute bleach and water flushes but the taste remained. I figured it was just the brand of 5 gal bottles we were having delivered so I drank a lot of wasteful single serve plastic bottles to avoid the water from the Primo unit. Finally the cooling part of the Primo broke so I started looking for a replacement. I definitely wanted another bottom fed cooler. Once you get rid of that 5 gallon bottle perched on top of your cooler you'll never want to go back. Just not having to deadlift the 50 lb bottle and flip it over without spilling a bunch of water on the floor is reason enough, right? Then there is the nice clean look of the cooler without the bottle perched on the top. Anyway, the Brio is a bottom fed so it fit the bill there. I also liked the sound of the "self cleaning ozone" feature so I decided to give the Brio a try, and I'm so glad I did. This Brio is such an improvement over the Primo it replaced. Let's start with little things. The Brio pump is quieter. No one in our house cares about this but I've seen people complain about noisy bottom fed coolers and the Brio is pretty quiet. The Primo had a room temp button but the water was the nearly the same temp as the cold. It was a pointless and never used button on the Primo The Brio room temp button is just that, room temp water. I measured each spout and the cold is 43°F, room temp is 71°F, and hot is 178°F. Now you may already know this but 178°F is a great temp for steeping most white and green teas as well as herbal blends. Oolong and black teas want to be a little hotter (up over 200°F) but for a relaxing cup of sleepytime tea this thing s perfect. The Primo only reached 165F°. Point Brio. Also note you can turn off the hot water in the Brio if you don't want to use it and don't want to waste the energy heating water you won't use. This was the same with the Primo. Tall containers fit better in the Brio. The Brio has a full 1 3/4" (4.5cm for you non-Americans) more space under the spout than the Primo did, a full 10 inches from base to spout as well as a slightly wider perch than the Primo. I can fill my baseball stadium "big ole beer" cups, my Bubba Keg, even my wife's tall 64oz Camelback fits under the Brio nozzle no problem. That never worked with the Primo, you were always holding cups at a weird angle with your finger over the edge to feel when the water was close to the top. Point Brio The Brio is attractive, at least in my opinion. Black and stainless fit well in most any decor. The Primo was the same color scheme so a wash there. The taste. The water from the Brio is delicious. I don't know what the deal was with the Primo, maybe it was age or some tubing they used I didn't like but I'm back to drinking water from the dispenser instead of destroying the environment with plastic single serve water bottles. I'm going to make regular use of the "self cleaning ozone" feature in hopes of keeping it that way. I much prefer being an environmentally conscious citizen but I just couldn't drink the water from the Primo, it was gross. So I guess you've figured out by now I really love this Brio water cooler and I highly recommend it. It is on the higher priced side of water dispensers but not by a lot and to me, if the self clean feature works it is 100% worth the extra money to have a cooler I will continue using for many years because the water will actually taste good.

Product work only for 2 years and 7 months.
I bought this product back on April 13, 2023. I love it, and it works very well. On January 31, 2026, it started malfunctioning. We try to make it work ourselves, but it only works for a little while. Please provide some instructions to see if we can fix it ourselves. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate them.

Water has chemical taste when processed through coolant system, concern for hazardous contamination.
Purchased it for newborn Formula (mixing Hot & Cold). Problem: Our Dispenser was contaminating the water Poland Spring 5-gallon water, when it passed through the cooler. Cold Water had a foul after taste that had a chemical taste. When comparing water taste, from the jug to dispenser's cold water, there was an absolute taste difference, and the after taste lingered. The infant cried with what appeared to be stomach pains after drinking the formula made with this Brio unit. My opinion is that the manufacturing process is not properly protecting a clean uncontaminated product. Further reading online reports this is a common complaint with Brio. The water is clearly being contaminated by the system, they did not even care to pick-up so they could verify the chemical taste. I'm am concerned for the health of my granddaughter, as Brio showed zero interest in a refund, zero interest in obtaining the unit for testing why it has a chemical taste. If it is indeed coolant contaminating the water, then the company needs to be held accountable for allowing traces of a chemical injected into water by its dispenser.

UV Light is a Game Changer
I get 5 gallon bottles of water delivered to my home monthly and have done so for the past 10 years. I was also renting a bottom-load dispenser from that company as well. That dispenser finally died, but the company was not able to replace it for me. They had no units to replace it. That is why I purchased this Brio Dispenser and I'm so glad I did. It's even better than the one I had been renting. The most important feature, which convinced me to get this, is the UV Light which sanitizes and purifies the water. The dispenser is attractive with its chrome face and the buttons and lights are functional and easy to use. The one thing I do not like is that there is no handle or recess on the bottom door to open it. Wet hands slip making it a bit difficult to open. Please note: the hot water is incredibly hot! Great dispenser.

Amazing until pump broke after 2 1/2 years
We loved this while it lasted! We had it for 2 1/2 years until it stopped dispensing water. We think the water pump went out and were unable to get it replaced and I guess they aren’t able to be repaired for that issue. Pros: Three temps: Hot water was great for my tea, not as hot as boiling but still really good, cold was cold and the middle temp was a slight cold. Pretty quiet with slight hum what it would be running the clean or grabbing water. Easy set up and maintenance. Loved that the buttons were on top so my little kids couldn’t get to them. Faster fill up that a fridge water dispenser. Cons: The bottom piece that catches the water was easy to remove so my kids got to it easy but we honestly just took it off and it was fine. Pump or something broke internally after 2 1/2 years and there’s nothing Brio or us can do I guess haha

Easy Setup and Quiet
We were refilling a water pitcher with a built-in filter before upgrading to this water dispenser. It’s great, doesn’t take up too much space and is very quiet as far as I’m concerned. It also looks nice. I am pretty tall, so it feels like the dispenser is super low, but it’s good for kids!. I may build a wooden platform to raise it a foot or two. Be sure to read the manual to follow setup instructions.

Just What We Needed: Update
This machine was delivered in 5 days. It was easy to plug it in with no setup. The buttons are convenient and self explanatory. The hot water has a safety switch, which is nice when kids come to visit. The water flows out at a pretty good rate, not very fast, but good to fill a glass or water bottle. The first use we needed to run almost 5 gallons to get the ‘machine’ taste out of it, but it’s great tasting once you do. It is relatively quiet too. Super quiet when we first got it, now at 6 months it sounds a little like something needs to be tightened to stop a minor rattling when refrigeration turns on. The hot is hot enough for tea, the cold is super chill. I am happy with my purchase. From what I can see, these units generally last 2 years with daily use. I’m happy with that timeline for functionality. If & when it dies I’ll buy again. Update: Oct 2024 Still satisfied with the function of this machine. The hot water is great to have ready when needed. The on/off switch on the back is handy to save energy too. I take off one star because it’s noisy. Two months after purchase it makes a loud rattling noise when the refrigeration unit turns on. We might be able to tighten something to fix it. Also , the ‘empty’ blinking light sometimes turns on for no reason. I just open & shut the door and it turns off, no problem. I still have ABSOLUTELY no problem with this machine and am happy with my purchase. I just want others to know what their getting!

Worth the wait…UPDATE: spoke too soon!!!!! ANOTHER UPDATE!
Today I finally got my water delivered to me so now I can write a review. The delivery was on time for receiving the water dispenser. The hot water immediately heated up and the cold water took at least an hour to chill completely. I am so glad someone got the idea to make bottom loading water dispensers because I cannot flip these 5 gallon jugs due to back issues. It was very simple to load the jug in the dispenser. The hot water heated up a hot cup of tea very well and I was able to get refreshing cold water. The noise from the pumping tanks was light but stopped after it finished pumping. I appreciate the child lock function on the hot water button because it will keep me from inadvertently burning myself. The size of the dispenser is shorter than I am but that’s okay because it suits me and requires less weight on me moving if necessary. The night light works well but I will turn off til it’s night time to conserve energy. I picked this product mainly for the bottom loading feature and the self cleaning aspect to make it easier on myself. I covered myself with an extended warranty so only time will tell if I never have to use it. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it! Update: This dispenser is not worth buying and neither is the extended warranty I purchased. I called Brio because I was having an issue with the room temperature dispenser come out too cold. They said turn off the hot water switch, wait two hours then turn it back on. It’s supposed to reboot the dispenser. I turned it back on after the allocated time and still no room temperature water. I called back. They had me send pictures of the serial number, dispenser and my order number from where I purchased the product (Amazon), then send me another email. This email says to talk to Amazon for a refund or replacement. Uh Brio what happened to your limited warranty? It’s not even 30 days of me owning this dispenser!!! I called Amazon and they say they cannot replace only refund. I’m seriously not happy because I purchased an extended warranty that should’ve let me replace but is not being upheld nor is binding. Refunding everything including the warranty would require me to pack up the product myself (don’t have the box anymore) using a newly purchased box, travel out of the way to find the right box size, delay and/or cancel my existing water delivery that I just set up and be without a dispenser for who knows how long until the refund was credited back to my account! These are the ONLY reasons why I decided to scrap the refund of the dispenser but keep the warranty refund because it’s too much of a hassle in returning. Brio seriously do not care about upholding their end of the bargain and Amazon should never be selling this product without the warranty being able to activated to make sure I got the full usage of the extra protection plan I paid for to go with this water dispenser! But for the fact that they offered to refund my money for the warranty, this review would not be a demoted three star review! It would be one star. This water dispenser was over three stars when I was researching so I assumed that it was a good purchase and ignored customers who made negative reviews. In my opinion, either some people are lying about their reviews or Amazon may be “revising” to upsell the product. While I stand by the features of what I liked about the water dispenser, the temperature issue along with both Brio and Amazon’s handling of the situation is what led me to give the amount of stars I am now giving. You may have wanted to return the dispenser for free but the negatives outweigh the positives, Amazon! Update: July 27th 2025 Since I am not getting help from the manufacturer and Amazon just sells the product, I decided to do some troubleshooting of my own to figure out why my room temperature dispenser is not working correctly. I saw one other reviewer’s tip on trying to open the dispenser to correct the problem. First I wanna say it’s not a block of ice inside the reservoir, it’s a piece of plastic that is suppose to lock onto the metal long tube at the bottom of the reservoir while also lining up with the drain hole at the bottom as well. This plastic upon closer inspection is very flimsy which is probably why the water dispenser may be causing issues for a lot of people. When I first opened the lid, it was floating with the long tube plastic (lines up with the drain hole) facing away from me. The plastic has a twisting bottom to lock on to the metal long tube. I fixed it, closed it up and I tested. The room temperature dispenser seems to be corrected. I’m gonna let some more time pass to really make sure this has been corrected. If it has reverted back to giving me cold water, I’m gonna look for a different company water dispenser and make sure to only get the hot and cold option with the bottom loading. BRIO WAS NO HELP IN DEALING WITH MY ISSUE!!! I will never ever recommend this company to anyone. Though they do get a tip from me!!!! BRIO LISTEN UP!!! REINFORCE THE PLASTIC IN THE RESERVOIR SO THE WATER WILL DRAIN PROPERLY!!! I’m sure with the money you have been deceptively claiming from your customers has given you the money to upgrade it!!!!
