Sandqvist Bernt Rolltop Backpack | Multi Beige/Blue

Similar to my review of the Sandqvist Harald backpack, this was purchased as a gift, and though it was ultimately returned without getting put through any real-world use, I came away with a good impression. This feels more like an every-day school or commuter pack than a practical travel option. Roll-top packs can be stylish, but the roll top in general makes it harder to open and close to get stuff in and out in a pinch. You want quick and easy access when you're going through airport security, or just need to find your earbuds.Pros- Sturdy and high quality material. All of the hardware (zippers, buckles, etc) are solid. I loved the buckles especially, as they're solid metal and have a light polished finish. The real leather elements are nice touches, and everything felt well made- Decently sized outer compartment on the lower-front- Pretty good capacity overall- Looks great, and I loved the two-toned color scheme.Cons- It could use some more inner pockets to give you more options to store and organize your things. For a commuter pack, this is essential, and I found this to be pretty lacking with this pack. There are only two small, mesh, zippered inner pockets. This is the only thing that is making me give it 4 stars instead of 5.- Could use a chest strap to help with support and ergonomics. It looks like you can probably get a 3rd party one that would work with this backpack, but I would love to see one that's designed specifically for this backpack integrated in.- Inner laptop compartment could use a bit more padding- It looks like it would be big enough to fit a 15" macbook pro, but the side-access isn't quite large enough to get one in and out. Maybe the design just can't afford this. If you have a 13" or smaller device, no problem!
