Works like it should
This works great with the GoPro w/tripod mount! Time elapse comes out looking great. I don't mind the ticking sound it makes since it is pretty quiet anyhow, so it's not that easy to hear. I do wish it had the option to have it "ding" when it was done. I left mine going past an hour because I forgot about it. The "ding" would have reminded me. Not really that big of a deal, I just need to keep track of the time when I do this. It does feel flimsy, but does not feel like it's going to fall apart. I know people have complained about the packing, but mine was packaged nice and no damage.

It does the job.
I don't understand why there are reviews complaining about this not supporting a heavy camera when the product description clearly states it's used only for "small, lightweight" cameras. Works perfectly fine with my GoPro.Pros:-Lightweight.-Black matte finish that looks well with the GoPro.-Has a tripod thread adapter on the bottom-side to easily screw in a tripod/monopod .-Conveniently has 15-minute intervals (along with the range of degrees) marked off on the side to help measure the length you want to record.Cons:-Feels super cheap and fragile in my hands. Other than the metal threading for the tripods, this thing is all cheap plastic.-Creates a loud ticking noise, which makes me feel like I paid for an kitchen timer.-Smaller than I expected.-Over priced.Also:-Packaging could of been way better. Arrived in a flimsy box inside of a packaging envelope. Not to be bias towards the product, just a bad choice on the sellers part. Would have preferred in a more secure box to be shipped in.I've only had the Camalapse 3 for a day. If you plan on using this with your GoPro, you'll need a tripod mount. Which you can pick up for ~$5 on eBay. I plan on taking it out in the wild and testing it's endurance within the next week.Overall, it does it's job. I wanted a product that could perform time lapse for me, and this does it. For how long, though? We'll see, and I'll be sure to keep you guys updated.

It's super simple and does exactly what you need
It's super simple and does exactly what you need. One great feature is it works like the DIY egg timers, but DOESN'T have a ringer!!Other than the ringer, what do you need to know?-it spins around for an hour-has tripod mounts-gets the job done.I've even mounted it to a suction cup and then put it on a car during a little run through southern Wisconsin... It got the job done there too. Although it did have a little play and had some vibration.

won't be buying another. serious waste of cash.
To be fair, the product description did say not to exceed 16oz. It did say it was for light weight cameras only. Fine I can dig that. What I don't accept, and honestly can't believe, is that the $5 chicken shaped mechanical timer I picked up at Walmart smokes the camalapse for only a sixth the price. My cheapo chicken timer was used to (and still is unfortunately) hold balanced 10lb camera rigs and despite looking really flimsey, it handled the task perfectly. I bought the camalapse to replace the chicken timer thinking it had to be better suited to the task, having been designed for camera work. I was wrong, really really wrong.I know what your thinking, I was clearly warned by the product description. It was pretty clear about not exceeding 16oz. Fair enough. But pretty much all manufactures under state the true performance margins of their products. Its a common thing to do as it ensures even sub par parts will meet the marketing folks claims and increase production yields. Apparently the folks over at Camarush don't subscribe to this line of thinking, since a quick look on review sites shows that many people have found the camalapse failing to meet even camarush's claims.Maybe 10lbs is asking quite a bit, but if my $5 chicken timer made of glue and hope can handle the job then I feel the $30 camalapse should be able to do at least the same. Honestly it won't even function at all with that load. Chicken timer runs perfectly under 10lbs and doesn't even slow down.Do yourself a favor, don't buy this. Go to your local Walmart or food mart and pick up a chicken timer, or whatever equivalent your store carries, and save yourself $25. Even better, because we all love amazon, find a mechanical kitchen timer in the kitchen appliances section here and save even more.
