Excellent Niose Cancelling Headset that's NOT a Head Clamp
As a Commercial Airline Pilot, this is the Headset I choose. It's light weight, comfortable and does a good job of cancelling ambient noise without the feeling my head's in a vise.

Excellent product.
Very impressed, I"m using the 850s in a CL605. Very effective in reducing slipstream wind noise. One needs to slightly relearn their background audio cues, especially during approach and landing.Audio quality is excellent, a definite improvement from the 750s. Multiple gain adjustments for both mic and audio. Comfortable even on a 7.4 hour east coast west coast grind into a 150K head wind. UGH. I'll always be a Bose A20 fan, but these are an excellent choice for an on ear solution. Self-powered is a HUGE plus over the A20s and other battery powered solutions.

Still Telex 850…Different Quality
Have been using the telex850 for 10yrs, had to get a replacement due to speaker breaking at the hinge. I must say the quality of material being used is much different from those of the past. Headset feels lighter and a bit flimsy. Sound quality and ANR still top class, however worrying about the durability. Time will tell …

A Good compromise but not Great
The Telex 850 is probably the best compromise in the price range for a "quiet flight deck" ANR headset. I may be a bit critical but I just downgraded from a Sennheiser that finally gave up after 20 years. I don't get the feeling the Telex will last anywhere near as long. The plastic attachments on the ear pieces and the mic swivel seems rather fragile. The Telex 12db reduction is slight compared to some other headsets but I did find myself sliding the inboard ear piece off my ear slightly to hear soft spoken crew members. So it must be doing its job. However, I am in one of the quietest flight decks in the industry (B-787). Not sure I would appreciate the mere 12db reduction in a noisier aircraft. The cord seems slightly delicate and could stand to be a little longer. The cord clip is very weak/cheap and doesn't look like it will last more than a few weeks. Side tone is pretty quiet. I wasn't sure I was transmitting the first few times I used the mic. Not a significant issue I just need to get used to not always hearing my own transmissions. Finally, the "leatherette" ear pads felt very warm for the first few minutes however, after I got used to them they were quite comfortable. It may have been just adjusting from my former "felt like" ear pads to the "leatherette." I do like the fact It doesn't have a battery pack. I wish more manufacturers would utilize the ships power for ANR.So to summarize:Pros1. I really like the elimination of the battery packCons1. Overall structure appears fragile3. Cord seems delicate and needs to be 6 or more inches longer4. Cord clip flimsy and cheap5. Side tone is very quiet6. Ear pads initially felt hot.7. 12db reduction is not impressive

Works beautifully :)
I got these to use on Learjets 35 and 55 and they work great! Much better than the headsets which were there before. I really like the leather trim feel very good on the ears! You should protect your hearing as much as possible so price shouldn't be an issue, these are still cheaper on Amazon than other sites!Hearing is priceless, it's worth every penny!

They worked fine for my first several work trips
Finally broke down and spent the money on this, as my new aircraft was just a little too loud for the old 750's (without noise cancelling). They worked fine for my first several work trips, then began giving me extreme feedback (high-pitched squealing) when I'd try to transmit. Of course they broke about a week after the Amazon return period and my husband threw out the warranty card before I could fill it out and send it in. In the process of contacting Telex to see if they will still uphold the warranty, as the product is so new.

Works Great
I recently took an airline job and I was on the fence as whether to get a telex to replace my bose. I was concerned that the noise cancelling wouldn't work as well. I think they work just as well or better. I should have gotten them a long time ago.
