Does this test for salmonela? Our well may be fouled after a recent flood.

No. The bacteria test only detects coliform bacteria. Only a lab can test for Salmonella.

Turned yellow & horrible disgusting smell coming from bottle that was tightly screwed

Correction! IF you kept the bottle for LONGER than 48 hours it will eventually turn yellow. IF the bottle remained purple up to 48 hours, the water is not contaminated. A yellow color, along with odor IS possible if you keep the jar LONGER than 48 hours. This is caused by the break-down of the nutrients in the jar. It does not indicate coliform if you keep the bottle longer than 48 hours.

Is there a seperate test for each element?

Most of the tests require single test strips. pH, hardness and alkalinity are on a single test strip.
