Raffi is something of an icon in the world of children's music, and it's no wonder when you see his folksy, expressive style and his talent for inspiring young children. This concert video features Raffi and his guitar on a simple stage before an audience brimming with enthusiastic young faces. Raffi sings a wonderful mix of 18 classic and original songs, many from The Singable Songs Collection, while beaming audience members clap, stomp, gesture, jump, and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Several pieces are performed acappella, and there are even solo segments on kazoo and "air trumpet.” So what's the best thing about Raffi? You'll have to decide whether it's his uncanny appeal to children, the comical lyrics in his original songs, his simple yet expressive treatment of well-loved children's songs, or the fact that parents can listen repeatedly to his music without losing their sanity. Love Raffi!
Awesome DVD, my kids 2 & 7 love it. Good ol fashioned children’s entertainment. Notice how the child audience are captivated by him, you do not see that anymore with all the stimulus children receive now from screens around them 24/7, the attention span has decreased dramatically! My children will continue to enjoy this dvd for years.

We love Raffi!
This DVD had been a favorite in our house for over 10 years. I grew up listening to Raffi music, and now my kids have grown up listening to Raffi music. We leave this DVD in the minivan and watch this on trips to my parents’ house about 45 minutes away. It’s the perfect length. Our favorites are Baby Beluga, Bumping Up and Down In My Little Red Wagon, Mr. Sun, The More We Get Together, and Raffi’s version of Baa Baa Black Sheep.

Our Secret Weapon
My son is OBSESSED with Raffi. He only says a few words at 16 months, but one of them is "Raf, Raf?" I honestly don't get why a grainy 1984 children's concert of a 30-something-year-old guy playing a guitar is so captivating to him, but it is. The songs are catchy and I find myself humming them around the house. Our babysitter raised her kids in the '80s with Raffi, which is why she gave us this DVD. It's especially been helpful on days when he's whiney and having tantrums. It's like an instant reset button. He bops around and does the hand gestures and SMILES when Raffi comes on. Raffi is one of the few tools in our shed that we know will work. It's right up there with his security blanket and raggedy old stuffed bunny that he refuses to let me wash. I've had to limit him to one concert a day to prevent too much screen time. He asks for it EVERY DAY. He usually watches it around dinner time to keep him out of the kitchen while I'm cooking. The DVD got scratched, so I purchased the digital copy and play it with our Amazon fire stick. Best $8 we have spent.

Timeless!
This was my now 31-year-old son's favorite video when he was a kid. So upbeat and interactive, and FUN. I could not put my hands on my VHS copy, so I was happy to see that it was available to buy as a DVD. I've purchased two of them for my Granddaughter -- one for her house, one for mine. We have a lot of fun watching this together!

Great toddler video!
This concert is adorable. I wish someone would remaster it though as the Quality of the video itself isn’t that great. The original is definitely converted from a VHS tape. I grew up watching Raffi and my toddler LOVED it

Good but not new
We had listened to Raffi growing up and had a VHS tape of one of his concerts. I was looking for music for my almost 2 year old son so when I came across a Raffi DVD, I was very excited; I loved Raffi!! However, when the DVD arrived, it was the exact concert we had on VHS growing up. It is a very nice concert and I love the songs, I was just expecting something newer not the concert from the 80s. However, it is a great concert and I expect that we will use it a lot over the coming years!

Great!! Need to buy an extra copy just in case!
Amazing! My 1.5 year old watches/listens it at least 3 times a day. If She is playing when her favorite song comes on she will get up and start dancing and capping to the song. She likes to watch the kids in the audience and the actions raffi does. He is truly a great performer! Some people gave it a negative review for "grainy picture" or "old". Although it is both, it is still a great show and there is nothing wrong with that as that's what I had in the early '90's too! ;) I would give it another 5 stars if possible.

Very enjoyable!
My children loved his music in the 70's and my new grandson is no different, at 8 months old he enjoys the music and also watching the children. It's not the greatest quality of dvd, but we love it anyway, for wonderful Raffi music, and the enjoyment on the faces of the children as they sing along with him.

Raffi 1984: a Young Children's Concert
What a treasure this concert was for us! I took my oldest children (now 38 and 36) to this concert and they absolutely loved it! Now - all these years later - one of their children just loves Raffi and will be attending one of his concerts. The circle continues. It was a hit as a pre-concert gift.

great
Again my great niece liked it a lot but she is at the stage of seeing things acted out as well as just singing. She will enjoy it much better when she is a little older
