Depending on the time of year the moisture level in the moss you receive may vary from very damp to nearly dry. Regardless of the moisture level when your moss arrives it is very much alive. Moss is the only non-vascular plant on earth and can be dry and dormant when you get it, once you wet it it will spring back.
