From the Ragdoll cat owner
The author is not a professional in the cat field but a Ragdoll cat owner (she had five of them) who shares her experiences. In addition she also promotes her website where she hosts videos discussing the breed and recommends products and earns money through affiliate links. This book was originally written in 2010 and includes revisions.I liked the tone and the attention to details in the book. Dean's descriptions are detailed and thorough, she covers both the pluses and minuses of the breed, and her affection for the her cats and the breed oozes from every page. The book is full of cute pictures showing Ragdoll cats and kittens. She covers a lot of territory from the breed traits to food/snacks, from toys to behaviors, from fun tricks to teach your cat to medical issues.Ali Julia review

Happy
My husband and I recently brought home a Ragdoll kitten. Although I grew up with a Ragdoll, I have never, as an adult, owned a kitten. It had also been several years since our family cat passed, so I felt a little nervous about what to expect and do with a new kitten. And my husband has never owned a cat.I bought this book to help us prepare. I really liked how easy it was to read. I liked how the chapters were arranged and although some complained that there was too many product recommendations, I actually appreciated that. I like when people share what products they have tried and like or don't like. I also found the list of questions to ask breeders very helpful. As a matter of fact, I wish I had that list before I shopped for my kitten.I also emailed the author with some questions and she quickly responded. In the same day! This book was very helpful and it is one I will keep and reference.

Perfect
She had links to EVERYTHING you might need, extremely informative. If you are thinking of getting any kitten really i recommend this book. Its an easy read, everything she recommends has amazing reviews. Not to mention she reviewed a great many of them herself. This book really is the beat guide you could ask for. LOVE the checklist at the end. Wish there was an intro of a new dog to a family cat. Thats im doing and it seems like the impossible hope.

More like a product catalog than a carebook...
Not really worth the money... the book is very thin. It's not specific about ragdolls and is really general. The information offered is more based on personal experience...didn't seem like the author had any formal training. There are many links you have to go to, as it was originally an ebook, with more information, which defeats the purpose of a book...most of the links are to her blog and honestly the emphasis in this book are products the author likes. The information about care is minimal. I learned nothing I didn't already know from online research. If you're getting a kitty I would recommend the complete kitten care guide, there is actual evidence and research that supports the information in the book and a lot of the information you cannot find online.

Very informative book!
I have had cats for 60+ years. My cats had ALL been adopted from the Humane Society. It has been 40+ years since I have had kittens. My last cat, was 12, when I adopted her from the Humane Society, was a Ragdoll cat. I fell in love with this breed, because they ARE the sweetest cats. Jenny Dean's book about Ragdoll Kitten Care is VERY informative. I learned a lot of things about kittens, which will come in handy, when I get 2 Ragdoll kittens in February 2021.

GreT Information
Despite having previously raised a Ragdoll from kitten stage, I found some really great suggestions! I am very grateful for the references to specific products that have worked well and will most definitely look for a number of them before my new kitten comes home. Thanks for compiling all of this information for Ragdoll lovers!! It is very much appreciated!!!

A Wonderful and Quick Guide ~ Perfect!
Delightfully informative and reader friendly, this often candid and practical guide was exactly what I was expecting from author Jenny Dean. I couldn't wait for it to arrive! I am an extreme fan of Jenny's hugely successful blog/website, Floppycats.com, and I knew that her book would be a perfect resource for me as I welcomed my new Ragdoll kitten. Jenny didn't miss a thing in her successful care guide! I enjoyed my quick scan and then a later, a more focused read. Although Jenny originally published all of her "hands on information" as an eBook, she is more than happy to send you a digital version of the book that includes all the clickable links you will find within the pages of the hardcopy. Jenny is creative, bright and ingenious in her loving devotion to the significance and well-being of the beautiful Ragdoll cat. As a longtime Ragdoll owner and lover herself, Jenny doesn't just write from knowledge and eduction alone, but truly from her heart. Thanks, Jenny! Your guide is more than refreshing and a wonderful little "go to" as I begin my Ragdoll journey!

A complete guide
Really enjoyed reading this book (took me less than 2 hours). It has all the info you need to know for prepping your home for a new kitten as well as how to care for it, shopping lists and other neatly organized info.Of course you could get all this info online but I like having it organized into a book as I can go back and read some sections whenever I need to.I especially liked the 'essentials checklist' and the 'care calendar' which lists the steps you need to care for your cat as well as how often you should do them.If you're getting a Ragdoll or already have one, this is a complete guide so I highly recommend!

An easy and informative read.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The Author is honest that she is not a veterinarian nor a breeder. The advice that she gives is her opinion based on her her personal experience of ragdoll ownership. It is set out in an easy to read style. it has a lot of brand specific recommendations for cat products, but they can just give you ideas regarding similar items to get for your ragdoll. I really enjoyed the photographs of ragdolls doing various things.

I question if the author was paid to endorse certain products over others as really few reasoned expiations are given as to why
This book provides antidotal examples of how the author's two cats react to certain products sold in America. There is very little science or even authority in the way of even vet interviews regarding ragdoll behaviours, preferences, requirements. Some chapters are merely lists of products reviewed by the author, with her website predictably plugged at the end of each review. I question if the author was paid to endorse certain products over others as really few reasoned expiations are given as to why one product is better than another. sSream of consciousness, unsubstantiated, personal options. Waste of money.

An excellent all round helpful guide
This is my first ragdoll cat well my first cat realy , andI bought her from a show breeder and wanted to make sure she was looked after properly for,her breed. This book is very xo prehensile and ideal as it is delivered to your kindle I have it on my iPad. It's a good read, great for referring to a must read for anyone considering getting one of these cats due to the upkeep of them and managing of them as they are high maintenance in the fur and food department. A raw food diet I would recommend.

Absolutely brilliant, thank you Jenny.
Absolutely brilliant, I have been a cat owner all my life but I still learnt so much from reading this book, I also learnt a lot about my previous cats too. I am planning on getting a Ragdoll kitten later on this year and really wanted to do my homework, all of my previous cats have all had long and happy lives but I wanted to be sure as this was my first Ragdoll and first actual kitten that I knew as much as possible, this book really helped. I found Jenny through her YouTube channel Floppycats, I love watching Trigg and Charlie’s videos all of the time and they have inspired me to get a Floppycat of my own. I can highly recommend this book and Jenny’s YouTube channel and website.
