Chrono Cross Official Strategy Guide (Video Game Books)

I've come to realize, that a guide is needed for rpgs, most are lacking. You'll find yourself going to on-line faqs, wikis and the like. The main body of this guide does a fine job explaining the basics of the game. All necessary parts of the game are explained in the opening sections.The battle system is a brilliant concept. Every character has a specific element and a grid that grows as you fight. The CC guide shines here. I hate having to create things. But the forging of items is minimal: weapons and armor. It is necessary to upgrade your weapons at points in order to advance in the game. Forging has it's own section while the guide cites when to upgrade. You recruit characters but you can't get them all in one playthrough. Plus there are multiple endings. Bringing to mind some great rpgs such as Star Ocean the 2nd Story which has about EIGHTY endings. In Suikoden III you also find various party members but you MUST play it three times through from three points of view. Back to Chrono Cross, which has a section on all the characters, the conditions under which they will join you and their strongest attacks. The walkthrough is bare bones. Not to prevent spoilers, but because of laziness on the authors part. Lastly, I have NEVER seen such a confusing, screwed-up and crappy a map section in ANY other guide!!!!

I like that this guide is very helpful in general it does tell you how to recruit all characters and its extremely helpful with bosses from beginning to end and it also tells you how or when you get the Lv 7 techs for all the characters, but it doesn't show you anything about the characters Element Grids which would be helpful in buying elements for them and all the maps are in a seperate area of the guide which can be frustrating especially when you want to know where the treasures are in the area your in but overall a really good guide I highly recommend it.

Chrono Cross is one of the best games ever made. I've played it so many times, yet I still learned new stuff about it from this book. There's stamps on the inside of the cover that says it was previously owned by a library, but it's in really good condition

Normally on my RPG games I like to play them through without the help of guides, but Chrono Cross is so non-linear and has such a wide base of characters there is no real way you could find many of the cool stuff in the game without this guide.Simply put, it's well laid out, as bright and colourful as the game itself, details where all the items are located, and gives advice on how to beat the more difficult bosses.Yes, you can complete the game without this, but you would most certainly miss out on a lot of awesome subquests, groovy characters, and very helpful items, you woulnd't want to do that now, would you?

One of my favorite video games and needed a new guide from 17 years of wear and tear. Product did not disappoint and arrived in new condition with only very minor bending in the books spine from storage I'm guessing. Would buy from this seller again.

enjoy the ability to use different people in the game, and that when you start a new game you can carry over some of the abilities that they have learned.
