This "garter" strap works great! I have worn it all day many times and it is very comfortable. The holster and strap combo gives me confidence that my gun will stay hidden & secure until I might need it. The strap is velcro and wide, so it is nicely adjustable without digging in to my skin over the course of a day. My calves are quite large, so the strap is very helpful to keep the holster higher on my leg. Well done!

First impressions, works nicely. Some may need this product while others may not. It really depends on the shape and build of your leg. No matter how tight i put the apache holster on, it would slide down and sit on top my foot in a very uncomfortable way. This strap holds the holster up and keeps it resting in a comfortable position. I am happy with the function of this product.Cons: you need to wear the strap inside out as some others have shared. Havinf the verticle strap on the outside makes the most sense, as it will scratch your leg otherwise. Not a big deal to me, and certainly an easy fix.The vericle and horizontal straps are way to big for me. The horizantal strap sags a bit because it is so big...i wrap it around to fit but there isn't any velcro holding where the verticle strap is and so it seperates a little and sags. The verticle strap is also too long for me and barely has any velcro to hold it.I understand that they have to make the product fit as many people as possible so i'm not upset or holding it againdlst the company.I will be taking the strap to a shoe repair shop and see if they can add velcro to the horizontal strap and shorten the verticle strap and adjust the placement of that velcro accordingly.I believev once it has been modified to fit my legs, it will work perfectly. I do recommend this product with the notion that some folks may need to modify it to fit perfectly.

I wore the ankle holster alone for over 2 years and always hated how the thing kept sliding down to the top on my foot. After trying this support strap for one day I regret not buying it 2 years ago. The holster is now so comfortable that it feels weightless.The strap and holster from DeSantis are very well made and quite sturdy. They are also very comfortable and easy to adjust.I recommend.

The good news is that it does, somewhat, help to hold up the DeSantis ankle holster. The bad news is that it is so uncomfortable, you feel like a monk who is wearing a spiked cilice to induce "mortification of the flesh." I purchased some fleece material from a fabric store and am getting a seamstress to sew it on to the strap that wraps around your leg above the calf muscle. She will sew some of the fleece directly onto the strap's non-elastic part, and will make a "sleeve" which will go around the strap to add additional cushioning. Let me emphasize--the holster support strap as it comes from DeSantis is extremely uncomfortable, with the strap cutting into your leg and leaving an impression when you remove it. It really should have come with cushioned lining. If you are not planning to modify this strap, it would be better for you to forego wearing it altogether. The ankle holster itself is not uncomfortable, and it DOES come with a fleece lining for comfort (note that the holster and support strap are sold separately). I think DeSantis should go back to the drawing board with this holster support strap, and that whoever redesigns it should actually wear it for a few weeks to see what changes need to be made to the design and materials. It's very important that your concealed carry rig be comfortable--or else it's going to be left at home. For many situations, ankle carry is the only real option--especially in hot weather. I'd say to go ahead and get this holster support strap--but modify it as I have described so you won't feel like you are wearing a torture device around your leg!ADDENDUM: I have worn the ankle holster support strap with the "fleece modifications" for a month now, and the modifications have made it comfortable to wear all day long. Without the modifications, it would have been pure torture. Now I can use the support strap to keep the ankle holster from sliding downward. I recommend you get the support strap, but modify it as I have described above.

This strap made a world of difference!! I bought the DeSantis ankle holster for my Springfield XD-S, which, while small, is probably too big to wear in an ankle rig. I couldn't keep it from slipping and moving around until I bought this support strap. Incredible how much of a difference it made! The holster works great now... just need to find some pants that it doesn't print through now. This product is fantastic though!

Holster support strap should come standard with the holster. Very comfortable. Without the support, it can be painful.

Misleading advertising. Too short, not working as advertised. And it makes no difference. Product was recommended with holster as a bundle. I've checked, holster can be returned, but this $20 piece of junk can't. That is fraud. I've purchased other items from Desantis in the past. Never had issues like this. Not only they lost my business indefinitely, but also I will make others aware of those fraudulent practices. Very disappointed in this scheme. All of that to steal $20 from me??

As another reviewer said, "this should be sold with the Apache ankle holster". I have a S&W J-Frame that weighs 11.4 ounces so I didn't think that I needed the strap. However, I found that not only does the strap keep the holster more secure it also allows you to have the ankle holster higher on your leg around the calf. This is much more concealable as well as more secure. I don't even think about it anymore. The only proviso is that the strap can be too long, and if you cut it, the stitching starts to come out where you cut it. I called DeSantis and the representative said to burn the edges. That worked for maybe a day, and then I went to a shoemaker who did a great job of stitching it correctly.
