Arrhythmia Recognition, Second Edition teaches any student how to interpret a rhythm strip using foundational concepts and a step-by-step approach, covered in an unintimidating, conversational writing style that facilitates learning of this complex subject. This text is appropriate for anyone--nurses, physician assistants, cardiovascular technicians, allied health professionals, paramedics, medical students, and physicians--wishing to learn how to accurately interpret based on a solid understanding of electrophysiology and pathophysiologic mechanisms in the heart, and how these translate to the rhythm strip. It is also an excellent reference text for instructors wishing to expand their knowledge of arrhythmia interpretation. This edition includes full coverage of wide-complex tachycardias in four chapters: the basics, the criteria, the approach, and a chapter on synthesis/interpretation, presented in a case study format. Beginner's Perspective boxes written by someone new to arrhythmia recognition provide tips and insight on how to approach the material as a beginner. This edition also includes chapter objectives written to Bloom's taxonomy. Review: Understanding the functions of our heart properly. - Itโs clear, exhaustive and didactically helpful with all drawings clearly explaining even the most difficult concepts. Congratulations to the authors! Review: The BEST Arrhythmias book for all levels! - If I could give 10 stars I would. I am an EMS Lieutenant and a paramedic of 15 years. I am also a professor, ACLS/PALS instructor, and an online educator. I have taught ECG interpretation for several years, and the number one book I have recommended has been Tom Garciaโs 12-lead book. This has now become the number 2 book. He teaches rhythm interpretation better than any other author out there. This father/son duo has taken the first edition to a whole new level. This edition is much easier for the new interpreter to follow, but still has gems in it for us more advanced ECG nerds. Get this book. Read it from cover to cover. I couldnโt recommend it more. ๐๐

Very detailed
This was a book assigned to me for Paramedic school. I am not one that usually reads textbooks but wanted to read this one because this is a hard subject to grasps. I am so happy that I did. I learned so much from this book and the author provided more than enough examples of each rhythm. I highly recommend this book to anyone in the medical field. The author wrote the book in a way that anyone can read it and learn the material. He even has a book on 12 lead ekg that I plan on purchasing and reading as well.

Arrhythmia inside and out
Paired with 12 lead ECG book from the same author, this book is the best to study ECG. Kudos to author's effort to make ECG as easy as possible for students.

If you're a complete newbie, this book will change that
This books actually breaks down the information as if you are completely new to the subject. They give step by step instructions on how to understand how everything works with the heart, and how that relates to analyzing ECG/EKGs. It gives you pictures of the ECG/EKGs and explanations about what is happening to the heart.

Disappointed
This parcel arrived with package open. I payed ยฃ62.99 for a brand new book and received this book which was clearly used. Crease down front cover, pages look used. Very disappointing. I have requested a refund and purchased this book elsewhere.
