Good Quality Bamboo but be Prepared to do a Little Sanding and Seasoning
These are fairly decent quality if you don't mind doing some light sanding work. The set I received had not been finish sanded very well. The wood was still rough to the touch and some of the edges ( esp. on the rounded items ) were poorly shaped. However, since they were bamboo it was easy to fix with some used 120 grit sand paper. I sanded them smooth and evened out the edges and then washed them in warm soapy water and let them dry. This made any leftover surface roughness stand out. Then I sanded them down AGAIN using some 200 grit paper. After that I seasoned by coating them with Virgin Coconut Oil and then putting them in my oven directly on the rack at 125 degrees. I checked them a few times and re-coated as needed until they quit absorbing any oil. The next day I wiped them down and rinsed them in warm soapy water and they have been working great ever since. The only drawback I have found is that the handles on the spatulas are straight and not bent like a "regular" spatula. That means it takes me a bit more effort to flip foods over in the frying pan. ;pNOTE : When you season wooden kitchen items use only virgin coconut oil or mineral oil !! !! ANY OTHER OILS ( canola, soybean, olive, etc... ) will eventually go rancid and then your utensils are no longer food safe !!

Wanted to love
I love the look of these and like the fact that the are made from a sustainable source. However, each one has had pieces start chipping off with minimal careful use and I am now hesitant to use them.I am concerned that a chip may get in the food without me noticing it so I have actually stopped using them.Look great but will look for alternatives.

Not exactly what I expected but its a very good product...
These are a bit too long and thick for me but that isn't the fault of the manufacture, but it would have been useful if utensil dimensions were listed. These bamboo utensils do not have a suspicious coating and are very well crafted. I can see these lasting a years if seasoned with food-grade mineral oil every once in a blue moon.

Bamboo
When I received these I got 2 splinter's. Some were not well sanded............I fixed that and put mineral oil on everyday for 5 days..........now, they work great!! They really need the mineral oil, because they are dry.......I did buy 2 sets.............so, will have to do that to the other set also. Good buy though...................

ok
The solid ones are good. The ones with holes were easily broken.

Great Set of Bamboo Kitchen Utensils
We had the pampered chef wood kitchen utensils for a while now and they are getting old so I decided to get a new set and try bamboo. So far, I have cooked 3 meals with them and they are working out really well. The one I like the best is the thin spatula. You can't tell from the picture but it is actually bent a little bit and thinner on one side than the other making it perfect for scooping food out of the pan.One thing I wish the seller had was a description of each so I could tell what you use each utensil for as I am at a loss why I would use a spatula with a hole in it.That however has nothing to do with the quality of the product and the packaging and timeliness of the shipping. All Great. Thanks Soleness!

Disgusting Lacquer
I noticed a strong chemical smell when I unpacked these, and they seem to be coated in something. I can't imagine using these to prepare food. If you want wood utensils to cook with, look elsewhere. If you want these for a craft project like cheap kitchen wall art or super-trendy earrings, buy these.

Bamboo Kitchen Utensils
I love the quality of this set of bamboo utensils. They are easy to hold, smooth in your hands and at the same time strong and very easy to stir with.Over the weekend I had a large dinner party with lots of home made foods and freshly prepared dishes and put all my new bamboo tools to the test. To me they were great fun, delightful to cook with and easy to clean. Some of my family members loved the satiny finish the most. They are definitely stronger than wood and did not harm my fine cookware or take on odors or flavors.I have several food lovers and great chefs in my extended family and plan to purchase more as gifts!
