This is a nice basic background stand meant for lighter loads (up to 10 lbs) that will go up very high when needed and it does the job well. The knobs are easy to tighten and loosen and it breaks down quickly. The 13 foot reach lets it go high enough for full length dance portraits in a studio, or (I guess this is a thing now) put your video camera up high above the crowd at kids sporting events. Either way, it's a great value for a relatively compact and light weight stand! We had a small problem with item due to a part lost in shipping and the vendor was prompt and professional making sure we were taken care with a replacement delivered quickly. A+ Service. CAUTION: This unit is great but do note it is listed as for light and medium weights, UP TO 10 POUNDS. Pay attention to that!! As a 40 yr pro who's experienced other older stands crashing dangerously down over the years, it is critical for you and your subjects safety that you pay careful attention to this as people can be injured if a stand fails and lights or background come down. Consider EXACTLY how much the weight total is of your 9' roll of seamless paper or 10' wide big muslin backgrounds, big aluminum core or cross bars, clamps and your bg roller adapter, DSLR and Lens, or your Einstein flash head with a big softbox and be sure it's not too much for these stands to hold SAFELY. (There are different "heavy duty" stands made to handle extra heavier loads if needed.)

This is a SOLID stand. For lights, backdrops, etc, this is it!

I use this for a sports camera stand. It is very solid and well built. Light for its size and easy to extend to full length. It is very stable of flat ground. I use a small bag on the cross bars to keep it steady in the wind. Good product at less than half of what other similar product are running.

Great stands! Very sturdy, light weight & easy to deploy. We use stands to hold up speakers (one ~7lb speaker/stand) for our home theater system. Stands make it easy to attach speakers (use tripod camera mount that screws into speakers) & then quickly raise them up to necessary height (~9'). Speakers aren't going anywhere. Once movie time is over just remove speaker, fold stands up & put away.

First, a really great price. Can't beat it. Second, it's light enough to tote around in our sports cart, but it is big enough that I wouldn't want to tote it around, and my camera, and my backpack, and kids sports gear, so either enlist help from your kids, or know that you are not going to trek all over a sports complex with this. Third, we travel for lacrosse, so we already travel with a lacrosse bag that this tripod will easily fit into, but it's not fitting into a suitcase if that's your plan. It's not small, but I wasn't expecting it to be! It comes fully assembled, and it is super intuitive to use, and super fast to put up. This is going to be helpful at the games! I didn't read what was included when I purchased it, so I bought an adapter so my SoloShot3 would work, but the adapter it comes with fits, so now I'll have a small bag of adapters to give out as party favors! The only negative (and I'm not marking down any stars on this because I was actually anticipating some sway) was that at full extension with the solo shot, I can see how there may be some sway if it's windy. So, I'll probably plant myself close by if that's the case. Super excited to add this to my camera bag (lacrosse bag) for our upcoming tournament schedule! I wish I had this when my older son was first playing. Video at ground level just isn't the same.

This thing is awesome and very tall. I use it to record sports games with a gimbal camera at the top. Last soccer game it took a direct hit from a very close kick with no issue. Its very sturdy considering the price and I would recommend this tripod.

Nice and tall, easy to set up. Would have been nice to include a carrying bag at this price.
