Not good at teaching piano chords
I am a guitarist. I can read music to some extent, but I really know my chords. I bought this book thinking if I knew where the piano chords were, then I could just play the chords with my left hand and play the melody with the right, and so I could probably pick up piano to some degree fairly rapidly. I bought three books on piano chords guided mostly by the reviews. (There are so many bogus reviews out there it’s hard to tell the trash from the gold.) I bought Chord Crash Course, Piano Chords One All Seven Natural Keys, and Piano Lessons for Beginners. This review is about Piano Lessons for Beginners. For the other reviews, see the other products.Piano Lessons for Beginners gives you a 28 page crash course in the basics and terms for piano and music. Kind of a waste of your time if you know it. Not really needed for chords. Next it goes into scales for chapter. Finally in chapter 5 you are taught chords. (By the way they uses chord images from piano-keyboard-guide.com.) Then they give you a crash course in scales and music theory. You don’t get to actually play any songs until chapter 9, page 73, HALFWAY THROUGH THE BOOK, and not many songs at that.Overall, pass on this book. It is nearly awful.

Kindle version has missing text and missing diagrams
The kindle version has a serious formatting error in the early section on Major Scales. This section covers 3 Major Scales: C, F, and G.For C Major, there is a diagram for Right Hand, followed by a text description of the right hand fingering order. Then there is a diagram for the Left Hand, followed by a text description of the left hand fingering order. For G major, the same process of diagram and text for right hand, then diagram and text for left hand, is followed. But, in the section, "Using your right hand to play the F Major scale," the diagram shows the right hand, but the immediately following text instructions for numbered fingering are actually for the left hand, not the right, and there is no diagram for the left, nor is there any text description for the right hand. The actual numbered fingerings for C Major, F Major, and G Major, both hands, are shown on another page at the beginning of the chapter, so it's not an insurmountable mistake, but does indicate sloppy workmanship on the kindle formatting. In general, the hand fingering descriptions are fairly friendly, and concise, but shoddy kindle formatting in a technical manual like this is not acceptable, and seriously undercuts my confidence in the rest of the material. Learning these, albeit simple, techniques is tricky enough, without also having to be on guard for errors in the accuracy of the instructions and presentation.

great book
This is pleasant book piano exercises for novices for my family. It is anything but difficult to pursue and is appropriate for individuals who don't have any earlier learning on the best way to play the piano such as myself. The language utilized is straightforward and not convoluted. It's a straightforward, yet compelling book to control an apprentice. In general I would rate it an extraordinary book which is justified, despite all the trouble.

Great Book!
Very well written book. It is easy to follow and is suitable for people who do not have any prior knowledge on how to play the piano like myself. The language used is easy to understand and not complicated. It's a simple, yet effective book to guide a beginner. Overall I would rate it a great book which is worth it.

Typo?
I’m learning a little bit from this book but am just so confused by the notes in this book. It seems like the quarter and half notes are incorrect. Seems like a major typo for someone trying to learn the piano...

Highly recommend.
Great review. Full of information. This will be a great tool now that I’ve started to play again after 45 years!

Nearly perfect
Possibly the most useful, concise introduction to music theory and terminology and piano keyboard technique I've come across - an invaluable primer and companion to any other piano and music texts. The only issue, as another review has pointed out, is the error in explaining the scale fingering for the key of F. The diagram and the heading for the text refer to the right hand, but the instructions that follow are for the left. The diagram for the left hand and the text for the right are missing. If you take this at face value you'll tie your hand in knots. Fortunately, once you spot the mistake, you realise the information is all there - you just need to follow the diagram for the right hand and the text for the left. Hopefully this will soon be fixed in an update. Otherwise excellent.

Very disappointing
Not a single musical stave or symbol. All notes and chords are depicted with letters. No way to learn to play piano. Also not worth the price.

Great Information
Lots to discover and I spent some time recovering what I’d learnt way back in my past. Recommend.
