Good book and information!
Eating alkaline is important for health...heard it all my life. I asked my library to get this book and they declined. They don't know what they're depriving their patrons of. I recommend this book for health, and weight loss is a by-product.

This is a "book?" Give me a break.... Don't waste your money.
1 star because zero star is not an option. First let me clearly state I DID purchase this book, NO ONE is or has asked me to write a review. I am a very busy professional with not enough time to relax let alone be concerned about reviewing products purchased on Amazon. I do not understand why Amazon insists on defaming its reputation by allowing paid or reimbursed individuals to post reviews - it skews the starred results to the point that I'm likely one of millions about to give up Amazon completely.About this "book." Do NOT, I say it again, do NOT waste your money if you believe the title "How to lose massive weight...," are curious about the whole alkaline craze, and have an IQ over 100. Most all the first 99 pages are freely available on the web. The remainder are 1-page recipes. There are over 40 B&W pictures, many taking up 1/2 a page. Now if those pictures were all recipes, I might not be so harsh. They are not; there's pictures of today's typical meal - a hamburger on a bun; a glass of water with a lemon on the edge. There is no publisher, just "made in the USA" inside the back cover. I do not believe there was an editor; typos throughout. The typeface is at least 12 or 14 point, there are many pages with blank, white space, and ALL paragraphs have about 1/2" between them of white space. It may technically be 224 pages of content, but if it had been properly formatted and the insulting graphics removed, it's about a 100 page book at best. As an adult, reasonably intelligent, I found the writer's style as well as the content to feel like an insult to my intelligence. I'd imagine a high school student (in today's society) might find it interesting and appreciate the approach. The author clearly states on page 13 "This book will show you how to create balance." Very few if any references in the book to massive weight loss; statements most often are the alkaline lifestyle increases energy, involves healthy eating choices, and that "going alkaline" is a lifestyle choice that may result in weight loss - so why are the words Massive Weight Loss even on the cover? The content, the "lifestyle" she is talking about is Vegan as well as giving up gluten and grains. Coffee, tea, alcohol, fruit with an abundance of nature sweetness, and many other staples that are known to be acceptable in moderation - not on this diet - oops, "lifestyle." The author even states she does not want her "dear readers" to call it a diet, and to throw out the word Diet. So, again, why is this word on the cover?Just don't waste your money is my honest opinion. If I hadn't tossed it in the trash can because I was so insulted after trying to read all the way through it, I would have returned it and asked politely for a refund. And, you must know, the only things that go into my trash are garbage and waste.Hey Amazon - get your act together. Require reviewers to be more than verified purchasers (which allows those false freebie reviews) - purchasers who paid out of their pockets, no renumeration WHATSOEVER, no incentive other than wanting to offer HONEST evaluation of a product to help other potential purchasers.

nice book, but not very much content
Not a very long book. She is very enthusiastic. Repeats her points many different times. good concept, But I really need to learn more about this and this book doesn't teach very much. About 30 or so recipes. She is a very nice lady!

Poor writing style
Poor writing style, poorly structured. Purchased this while replacing a lost copy of The pH Miracle, by Robert and Shelley Young because we thought it might be useful to compare and cross reference information. Just get the Youngs' book and don't bother with this. Reading it briefly, I felt as if the author had simply copy and pasted blog posts, along with lists that could have come directly from the Youngs' book. I wouldn't call it plagiarism so much as a lazy book-report. You can find the lists and recipes all over the place online. Save your money.
