First of all, these pocket ashtrays (or at least the Hobo Elephant one) are 3"x3" square, not 3-1/4" square as shown in the description. I really liked the design on these; they are plastic/foil lined, soft plastic outer and the picture is very nice and detailed. I imagine these would be comfortable in a pocket since the body (not the flap) is lightly padded, though I carry mine in a handbag. Normally, I *never* leave cigarette butts on the ground, but after I extinguish them I end up looking for something in my handbag to put the butt(s) in if no trashcan or ashtray is available. These are a good size to keep ashes/cigarette butts in inside a pocket in my handbag until I can dispose of them properly. I did notice that putting a cigarette out on the inside foil-ish part does leave a scar though it does not go through to the outside of the pouch. While I would use this for ashes and cigarette butts, I hesitate to use them to actually extinguish cigarettes for that reason, especially if you plan to keep one of these in your pocket. The button snaps well and I do like that I don't have to search for something in my bag to keep butts in, but I still extinguish cigarettes either on the bottom of my shoe or against a cement/brick wall before putting them in the pouch. Great idea, nice elephant rendering, very convenient and does help with stale smoke odors.
