Loved this book but it’s way too short
I’ve been reading a lot of through hike books lately, craving adventure from the comfort of my couch. I’ve also been inspired to start hiking and I’m thinking about trying backpacking. I loved the journey that Anish undertook and her incredible devotion and commitment to the trail. I’m so impressed with the records that she holds. Her journey, her writing, was all top notch – five stars. I knocked one star off this review only because the book is only 200 pages long. It left me wanting much more.

Inspiring, beautiful story!
I loved this book entirely! As a former ultrarunner and through hiker, I found Heather's story inspiring, real, and epic. Heather delves deeply into her motivation for pushing herself past her limits and I could really relate to her struggles. She doesn't paint herself as an athletic child and that creates a lot of the fuel for her success and grit as an adult athlete. Like me, the author finds strength and solace in the wilderness pushing herself. The second component of this book that totally got me was Heather's lyricism when describing her journey through the wilderness. I felt like I was there on the PCT in the storms, the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I felt like I was there on the trail with her and could vicariously experience what she experienced even though I will never set and FKT on the PCT! Thank you Heather for pouring your heart into this book, it really touched me.

unforgettable
An excellent book, well written, and interesting fascinating every page. Moved fast. Described what it takes overcoming fears and self doubt to push oneself to the limits of endurance. The joys the author felt every moment experiencing the wilderness, wild animals, joy in trees, rocks, sky’s at night, high peaks. A book I will never forget. I’ve learned many things.

making a difference
The ability to inspire others to follow their own dreams is a gift. This account of one woman’s determination to follow her own path does just that.

Mental and Physical challenges of long thru hikes.
Book is good diary of Anish accomplishment. She is obviously one of our top endurance athletes. This fact is supported by her selection for Nat’l Geographic 2019 athletes list. More important to me is the information that may shed light on why people and Heather particularly choose to engage in these non supported Trail challenges. The main challenge to me is days/months isolated and alone.

A Honest Tale of a Record Breaking Walk
I have read books like this before... A hero that didn't want to be one. A anti-hero is someone who does great things but won't accept the rewards of being a hero. What she did was amazing. Walking the Pacific Crest Trail in a record time. She also wrote a wonderfully honest and colorful book about her travels. Most journeys are difficult, however most books that you read about them make appear as if it was easy. But they are not. A record becomes a record due to being difficult to impossible. This was a journey of the heart in which she kindly share this difficult tale with us. Her journey was an exceptional tale of willpower, sprinkled with the joy of walking. I wish her well. She is an exceptional person... thank you for a book that absorb me into another place for a time, just a walk up a long trail. I am glad you wrote another Book

What a great adventure story! You feel like you are on the journey. The pain, the fear and the excitement as she conquers, snakes, cougars, bears and questionable humans! Great strength and willpower keep her going and I am so glad she completed what she set out to do! Well written and I hope there will be more to follow!
