Tight fit
This product worked as advertised but was very difficult to install. I finally figured the best way to install was to buy two #10-32 x 2 inch screws and screw the two clamp pieces together and then place the rope into the grooves and alternately tighten both screws. Once they are fairly tight, place a clamp on the the rope clamp and tighten, then remove the two installed 2 inch screws, one screw at a time , and replace with the regular screws and tighten, remove the clamps and tighten again. This seems like a lot but it sure ends your frustration with trying to get these together. As an added bonus, I actually replaced the screws that came with them and used #10-32 x 1 1/2 inch screws with washer and nut to further strengthen the clamps. Make sure they are stainless screws.

well thought out
I bought this with the idea of making loops on a 3/4 inch rope for a zip line. All of the other options involved a "clamp" style that clearly stated not intended for the exact use I was looking for - holding various weight limits. I figured this was a liability reasoning , which makes sense. So upon further search I found this style , and they work. The inside is made with "spikes" that definatly grip the rope and won't allow it to slip thru. The material looks to be very strong as well as the hardware to attach both sides. The seller added a personal thank you as well - a plus.

Clever product but dubious sizing guides
I bought the 3/4" version of this to use with 9/16" (0.5625") braided anchor line, and it took a vise and a screw gun to get the clamps tight, and even then they are not completely closed or perfectly aligned. My rope is 25% smaller than the nominal size of this clamp, there's just no way any other nominal 3/4 inch rope would fit here.I really like the idea of this product but think it needs re-thinking in terms of the size/depth of the barbs that hold the rope and the alignment of the two halves of the clamp. The barbs that hold the rope are more than 50% of the rope diameter, they'd probably be as effective at 50% or less, making closure easier. There should probably be two diagonally offset guide pins/sockets to ensure alignment. You'd also want to use red loctite or other permanent thread locker to avoid having the pressure walk out the screws over time, which makes it less of a reusable product since you'd have a hard time ever taking the screws out since the plastic housing can't be hit with a torch to break the thread locker.UPDATE: It's so hard to get these screws in, that I switched to using pan headed machine screws and nylock nuts. This is actually a superior solution because you can use longer screws and use a nut driver to tighten them and then just dremel off the excess screw.

Difficult to install, but so far work well.
Like some other people on here, I had to go out and get longer machine screws (#10-32 1 1/4"... they come with 1")... I used trigger clamps to help squeeze and hold the two sides together. I did a lot of squinting and cussing, a little screaming -— that was key... and eventually I got them on there. In the end, my porch swing is crooked and there's no way to adjust without going through the pain of taking them off and trying again. I'm using chains next time.

Works exactly as described
Used these to connect four 3/4 inch rope loops for a porch swing combined with four of the regular 3/4 inch rope clamps from the same vendor. Took a little trial and error on the first one to figure out the best way to fasten the clamp with the rope inside (ended up using a small bar clamp to compress and hold it together while fastening the two machine screws) but the next seven went very smoothly. Much easier to keep the four rope loops at the same length than using a knot and looks much better as well. Not sure I'll have another need for these but would definitely buy again if I do.

Excellent quality, but buy the next larger size if you have any doubt about your rope.
Excellent quality and easy to use. May be a little tight, or else my 3/4" rope is a little large. Took a little effort to get the rope compressed. In fairness, the info says buying a larger size may be a necessity. Would have bought a slightly larger diameter if it had been available.
