DA VINCI 18 inch Leatherette Backgammon Set with Beautiful Old World Map Design

The chips are like we remember growing up - thick and big. The felt lined board and cups are nice. We like that it latches closed. Trying to find a large board is difficult, we like the size of this board. We were worried the dice would be too small, they are fine. We thought we would be bummed about the lack of leather stitching on the board - it is fine and you get what you pay for. It is a beautiful board and we like it. We played for hours last night and were surprised at the price. We had returned a different board purchased at a chain book store that was overpriced with terrible plastic parts and a small board. We are picky. We are keeping this one.

Well made, attractive with good color scheme and graphics. A good value!

Nice board, really like the felt lining, good size

Great size to play across the table from someone and the quality is Great. Nice size bones and dice throw evenly and LOVE the case design Soo Nice!

Great for the price. Just a few nit-picky things the manufacturers maybe could have done better:1) The latches that close the case are longer than the case is thick, when they're opened - so basically the latches keep you from setting the open board completely flat, if you're on a hard surface (like a wood table or particularly some scratchable surface). It's just fine though for playing on the couch or carpet or any soft surface. You could flip the latches into the closed position, but then they might hit your wrists while you're playing.2) Little glued divider pieces comprise the trays for the two sets of "stones" (pieces). The manufacturer glued one divider about a half inch too far, leaving a gap that allows the end stone to lean over - and keeps you from closing the board until you stand up that piece correctly. Normally, the stones should all squeeze into their little tray, and the top should close easily.But for $30ish dollars, and little imperfections are totally ok with me. I just got the set, so no input yet on wear and tear, or how long it might last. Will update recommendation if needed later.

I'd played backgammon as a kid with my father and really wanted to teach my children the game. I'd not played in 30 years so I had to get familiar with the game but overall this is a nice set. It's held up well to grade and middle school child use and we tend to play a couple times a week. I like the feel of the chips and the dice cups seem to hold up well. The only grip I'd have is the pamphlet that comes with the game explaining the rules is a photocopied sheet of paper that's hard to read. I simply printed out a better sheet off the internet and put that in with the kit. That allows the kids to play on their own and resolve any questions about the rules or set-up. I'd certainly buy this game again.

Looks exactly like the picture. Bought for my husband for Christmas. He loves the way it looks!

Terrific set. Bought the new fancy box to teach my wife. She's never played before. I must be a good teacher - she's killing me!!!!!!!

Larger pieces don't help me win the game but I love it just the same. My only complaint is that sometimes the pieces in the rack prevent the cover from closing completely.
