Really awesome!
I was very nervous about dropping a hundred bucks on a hair styling tool of all things, but I'm really glad I did! I watched a couple of YouTubers try it out and decided it was worth an investment. I am the woman with the pink hair in the product images; my hair is product-free in the images and I took the photos after using the Curl Secret and then going out for the day.I think preference will vary from person to person with this product. I can absolutely see why some people who try this out still prefer more traditional curling tools. If you have trouble getting your curls to look right? Try this if you've been thinking about getting it. It does all the work for you and takes roughly the same amount of time as a curling iron. It's not super speedy or magical, but it's a really good tool! It's especially good for people who can't get the hang of clipless curling irons and are sick of dents being left by the traditional irons that have clips. Some things I was asked by friends when I told them about it, answered:-- Yes, it's easy! Case in point: I had my completely hair clueless husband do the back of my hair for me the other day and he did just fine!-- Yes, it works! I get great curls and they REALLY last, even without product (this will range based on hair type, most likely.)-- No, it does not eat/trap your hair while it's curling! The "hold" is very loose and, unless you manage to severely tangle yourself in it, it lets go just like that as soon as you release the clamp.-- Yes, you CAN get your hair stuck in it if you put too much in or partially miss the feed when inserting your hair. No, it is not hard to get it back out, and no, it is not hard to get your hair correctly fed through.-- No, it does not damage hair (no more than any other heating tool does, anyway.) My hair feels just as soft as before using it and there is no "crispiness."-- Yes, it works on long hair, though it works best on hair that's above shoulder length to just past the shoulders in length. If your hair is halfway down your back this may only be good for curls that start partway up instead of near the root. If that's what you prefer, awesome! To avoid your hair getting stuck*:-- Read the instructions. No brainer, I know!-- Make sure your hair is tangle free before using.-- Do not try to feed too much hair into it. 1.5"-1" is about as much as it can take.-- Mind the feed (stay to the middle.)-- Don't hold it backwards! The open side (with the exposed end of the barrel and text on the plastic) should be the side facing your scalp.*Sometimes it just happens, especially when you're doing the back of your head yourself! It's not hard to miss the feed when it's in your blind spot, but it's not as scary as it sounds. Don't panic; don't yank or tug. Remember: A few extra seconds of heat while you get your hair out isn't going to burn it off. Untangling it usually takes less time than it takes for properly fed hair to curl, but rough treatment may tear your hair out or get you legitimately stuck. The feed will push your hair out a bit so you can release pressure on the clamp and pull it out, holding by the roots with your fingers and wiggling gently as you go. 9/10 that's all it takes.

AMAZING Product!
I have been only TOO EAGER to write my review since my Curl Secret arrived on Mother's Day (thank you, Amazon Prime!).Okay first - before I made my purchase on Amazon.com I did my research. I watched numerous YouTube videos and read reviews... so by the time my product arrived, I used it flawlessly on the first go! It was so fun and easy to use!! So do your due diligence and take about 10-15 minutes to watch other users work this curling device so you know what you're doing. It's funny to watch the folks who didn't follow the instructions too, but hey, this will help you know what NOT to do ;-)Some tips:1. Use "day two" hair, meaning, don't use on freshly washed and dried hair. That'll just add to your morning routine. For me, working with day two hair means I still have some thermal protector spray and product in from the day before. I have medium-long hair, colored & highlighted hair, with the thickness fine to medium. I can curl my entire head in less than 15 minutes. Sometimes even in 10 minutes. This product is revolutionary and if you do it right, it will provide you with curls that will have folks in the office asking "how did you get those curls?!" and at the end of the day saying, "Wow! Your curls lasted all day!"2. Heat setting. For my hair type, I vary between the 8 or 10 second mark, always on the high heat setting. I like the looser curls. Sometimes on my day two dry hair I will lightly spray some thermal protection on my hair and let it try before I use the product.3. Don't take more than 1" of hair. There will be a beep, and the brushless motor won't do it's thing.4. COMB through the hair you want to curl. Don't just grab a half inch of unkempt hair and expect a nice looking smooth curl.5. Use the cleaner that came with your curl secret. Wait until your curler is cool and then twirl that thing around in the chamber a few times.6. Don't panic if your hair gets stuck. I had this happen once because I foolishly tried to curl in excess of 1". No hair was pulled out and I didn't lose any hair. There is a safety feature and thank goodness for that - so if there is a misfeed you'll release the clamp and your hair will come out.Now go have fun curling your hair with a curler that will cut your styling time down in the morning!
