Hinoki Cutting Board, One-Piece Wood Chopping Board, Set of 2

This two cutting board package was very expensive. Both one piece-no-glue. I cut a carrot and an onion. The next day was a split. The saddest part of all of this was the time invested in researching cutting boards. Boo. Don't buy.

So if the branding matters to you, then only one of my boards was branded as shown. The other had a different brand burned into the board as you can see in the upper left of my picture.The boards are unseasoned and high quality solid one-piece hinoki. I ended up using my boards for two weeks before the Hinoki mineral oil arrived from Japan and these boards have drank half the bottle since I began applying it last night. Very thirsty wood. It might take a few days to get these boards completely saturated. In the picture you can see knife marks from my previous use and the shine is from another layer of oil. Of course one should normally treat the board before use, but I didn't feel like waiting two weeks.I've not applied bees wax yet but it should take to that pretty well too and it may fill in the knife marks slightly.The boards were very light when they were first unwrapped and have been nothing but a pleasure to cut on.

My husband and I try to eat clean. We have japanese knifes that we like to keep very sharp. These boards are perfect for keeping knifes sharp since they are soft and give when you cut on them. These are single pieces of wood so we know there is no glue in our food from cutting boards breaking down. We finish these boards with vegan Caron & Doucet - Cutting Board oil and wax. Oh yes, they are really beautiful too.

Quality product, has a nice minty natural wood scent. Fast shipping and well-packed. Good Dimensions, not too thick or thin and easy to handle. Thank you!
