This works very good and I use it mostly for hard vegatbles like potatoes, cucumbers, radishes, etc. It is relatively easy to clean and I do not put it in the dishwasher. I, especially, like the storage for the additional blades, although it could use one more compartment, since I do not leave a blade in the mandoline(grandkids). Works very well and is easy to use. I would, definitely, recommend this device to anyone

Fudge, lucky i still have parts of my fingers. Actually easier with a knife, sorry. Cheap, small, i just cut a carot. whew. i'll give it to someone i don't like, lol.

Not as sturdy or as large as I thought it would be. Ok for light jobs but I was looking for a machine that could take on larger tasks

So, the product works okay, but the main reason I bought this was for the hand guard so I could slice without worry of cutting myself. While the hand guard holds food, it only grips well for the first few passes over the blade. I found myself constantly having to readjust it, even though it seems like it should automatically keep pushing food down with pressure. My slices turned out really uneven and some were just slivers. It leaves a lot of extra food at the end too, so you either risk slicing your fingers to get the rest or you waste food.Blades are sharp and easy to clean. Some are a bit tricky to snap in and out, and I find the storage of them is kind of pointless since food can easily spray over all of the blades if you're using the container, so you'd have to clean them all every time.
