PediFix Visco-Gel Stay-Put Toe Spacers (Medium)

Finally, a spacer that can be worn comfortably with shoes, barefoot, and to sleep in! Let me start with a little background: I had bunion surgery a year ago and my big toe is not as straight as it should be. I also have neuromas in this foot so anything that cramps the toe box quickly becomes painful. I ordered this product in hopes of "realigning" my toe. One of the things that was not clear to me when I ordered was which size to order. I am a rather small woman (5'2", clothes size 4) size 7 shoe but I planned to wear it looped over the big toe as shown in the picture. I ordered the medium; I can get it on the big toe since the material is quite stretchy (other reviewers have stated they felt the material was thin and would break, it seemed more substantial than that to me); however, I discovered I got better alignment wearing the device on the second toe with the spacer between the first and second toes. The material seems very durable to me, yet is soft enough to be comfortable and I have not had any problem with chafing. The first day I wore it for 24 hours, removing it only to bathe. I slept in it wearing a thin sock on that foot-I believe it would not have stayed on through the night otherwise. I have frequently walked around the house barefoot and it stays on with no problem, and I have worn it with a variety of close-toed shoes with no rubbing or discomfort. In most of my shoes it does not noticeably increase the tightness of the shoe; in the few instances the shoe does seem tighter it is not uncomfortably so and it has not caused the neuromas to flare (full disclosure: because of the neuromas I tend to wear shoes with a fairly wide toe box). This unobtrusive little item works well, stays put, and seems to be helping my toe alignment even when I haven't worn it for a while. I am extremely happy with this product and would not hesitate to buy it again.

I read negative reviews about this but it looked like a good idea and I like to make my own mind up so Ii gave it a try. They are a good size (I am size 12 female) not tight at all. Very comfortable to wear all day in shoes, after the first hour you cannot feel them. They rinse and dry overnight. I do not find them flimsy at all, if you have average sized toes you don't need to over stretch them. I got them in a pack of 4 two weeks ago and Ive worn the first one everyday and no sign of wear on the spacer, so i think they will last me a long time. These are a great idea if you want to straighten your toe or stop two toes rubbing together, I'm not sure how effective they would be if you had a big or sore bunion, you might need something more serious for that. But, thumbs up or is it toes up for this product x

I've been using this all day until I go to bed and I can tell you that as a person who has suffered from severe bunion and feet pain for years, I never thought something this simple would help. It's been about 5 days and last week's feet pain is minimized. I also bought Bunion Aid Hinged Splint for Bunions at the same time but I've been using that one only one foot due to the ridiculous cost of the product, and only for couple hours at a time a day. So I suspect these spacers are responsible for my relief. I think the splint is very helpful too though since majority of my pain was on the right foot and it's much much better now. I don't wear these to bed since they get really dirty by the end of the day and I don't want to wash them before bed every night. So, you could I guess and they'd not come off. These are some good quality spacers. I've used ones that just would not stay put and I'd never feel comfy with them in my shoes and I very rarely wear heels. Who would have thought the stay put function was the key to using spacers! In sum, if you're suffering from bunions, buy these and you'll be happy. Do not expect them to cure what you have but I think they'll help with the condition not getting worse as they support the big toe. Finally, if your toe is way too crooked and bunion is big, do not expect these to separate the big toe from the second too much; it does not. I was disappointed when I first put them on and saw my big toe is not separated enough. But somehow they still took the pain away. So no complains here!

I agonized over how many stars to give this... I want to give it more because I gotta think it will help someone. It seems like the ideal design... it's just it made my toe hurt even worse.My background is that I've had bunions my whole adult life. I had surgery to correct one and was going to correct the other, but when I fixed the first one the second seemed to get better. And it was for about 15 years.... until now. I have started back jogging again for the spring and I have all the right things, arch supports, specialty tennis shoes that have a wide box at the toe, I stretch and all that... but this year my bunion that had been good without surgery started aching after runs for maybe 12 hours after.I tried this (and I also tried socks with spacers) and got the same bad results. Within 10 minutes of putting them on and just sitting... not even walking.... my toes started to really ache. And then it got worse the longer I had them on. When I took them off the relief was almost immediate. So for me this just is not a good fit.

The material is very comfortable, it is in fact gel which is nice that it doesn't get hot or irritate my skin. The other benefit is this does not slide around as other toe separators often do. The downside is if worn for long periods of time it may cause discomfort. It may feel constricting and tight as it does with me. This product is best for separating overlapping toes, it does not lessen bunion pain. The gel material feels as though it may tear but so far the structural integrity has remained. Wearing this while jogging was ok for about twenty minutes, after that it began to pinch.
