No Love Deep Web

Really dark lyrical imagery backed by odd, uncluttered, and hard beats.
The lyrics to this album are a violent cry for help. Nothing can help Ride relieve his problems. All he will do in the meantime is lyrically and physically destroy all that disgusts and is beneath him (almost everything he can see). Come, follow Ride through his mind, an abandoned building of isolation and torment. It's definitely full of sick, twisted imagery, but the speed, variety and intoxicating amount of it will please anyone who wants an extra high dose of sick, twisted imagery (it's a psyche burn in my brain). This man doesn't resort to pop culture references and instead references stuff I really should be learning in school (mythology, literature, and world events are his forte). If you listen you'll have a lot to think about up there. The melodies are so full sounding they charge in and ride around on a heavy cloud of synths and samples. All encompassing relentlessly repeating phrases which could annoy those who don't enjoy the textures as much as I do. The arrangements are very clear sounding (you can hear everything individually creating it's own unique space). All the drum sounds are apparently played live which is very impressive considering how stripped back they are.I find this album demands to be listened to more than once. It's an all encompassing whole that gets more coherent the more you understand each song. It finishes with a subtle but fantastic closer which by the end makes me feel like there's a whole in my heart. Deep Web is the only song I'm not behind, but up against all the other awesome tracks it doesn't matter. And what vinyl listener (not buyer) doesn't want a huge, blown up picture of Zach Hill's penis? Overall I love it!

2nd DG vinyl
I'm bouncing. Love this album and owning the lyric sheet while it plays through answers some but only raises more questions as to what is going through rides head.

much love,deep bass
I love this album.it's very bass heavy.i bought this before Money Storeand maybe that's why,but I feel like this album is two steps forward.they are evolvingbefore our very eyes.if this direction(more heavy)is what's up I'll be following thisband.this was a complete surprise to me.I heard the hype, but this album rocks.hard.if you like music with guts, power and and some kinda love,I can recommend this.I bet Lou Reed would have loved it.

I got the nasty in my taxi
Arrived on time in a paper case. I prefer the hard plastic cases, but finding an old empty one to put the CD and lyric book in worked well enough. Of course it came with the uncensored cover, as I had hoped it would.

One of my favorite albums of all time
A pioneer in the genre of experimental hip-hop. Over 45 minutes of dark minimalist beats with a urban aesthetic, backed by legendary drummer Zach Hill. Stefan Burnett provides his infamous brutal vocals, adding onto the grit of the project overall. Worth checking out if you haven't already.

Thankfully it comes in a black sleeve
It goes without saying, but the cover art is obviously not family friendly. But, this is one of my favorites of theirs and sounds great on vinyl. If you're debating whether or not to buy this because of the cover art, just go for it—It comes in a black sleeve. You won't regret it!

My favorite discovery this year
Don't start here! Start by listening to a copy of "The Money Store" and then get this when you're totally obsessed :)You can peep it for free at thirdworlds.net but I wanted to support the band plus rip it into FLAC. Dear Death Grips, please tour!

No Love Deep Web [VINYL]
Probably my favourite death grips release to date - abrasive beats with an air of experimentalism throughout. MC Ride's lyrics are stellar in NLDW and create imagery unparalleled by other music artists today.Comes in a striking black oversleeve with 'no love deep web' printed on it to hide the explicit cover, the sound quality is what you'd expect from vinyl.tl;dr: great album, sounds great, fantastic price (some versions of NLDW are $500+ on some record trading sites!)

Excellent idea for packaging considering the graphic nature of the front cover. I thought it was pixelated out but it is definitely not! Excellent experimental hiphop - what I consider to be 'noisy' and musical at the same time. Worth giving it a try if you're looking for something a bit different.

Five Stars
A dark, sinister and challenging album. However it is incredibly rewarding.

Destaca:"No Love"; "Whammy"; "Black Dice"; "Artificial Death in the West"
