My granddaughter plays baseball, and she loved it!

Great true story that should be told to all young athletic girls. Both inspiring and frustrating. What she accomplished is awesome, but it's sad she was held down due to gender. It's a good balance of good and bad. Not all children's stories need to have perfect glorious endings. This story keeps it real, and can hopefully keep a child more balanced than always expecting a fairy tale ending in life.This made the perfect gift for a baseball-loving grandma from Tennessee to read to her granddaughter.

After watching part of a college baseball game, my 6 year old granddaughter expressed interest in the game. She is also just starting to read bigger books, and she really enjoyed this one. Since we are Yankee fans, she hears the names of the sluggers that Jackie struck out, which made the book all the more real to her. She said she had trouble with some of the words, but figured them out from reading it. The illustrations are really lovely, evoking the time of the story.

Great book. Good information and rich illustrations. My class really enjoyed it and got so interested in history because of it.

Wonderful illustrations and a good story for all of us who are told we "throw like a girl"!

I bought this book to read to my 5 year-old Grandaughter. Aside from the interesting and well written story, this book has the most wonderful illustrations I have ever seen in a book.

This is a book that I recently discovered. I love baseball and this is a book that I will use in my class someday.

Wow! How wonderful to know that there was another Mighty Jackie in baseball that young girls can look up to as a role model.
