Works well, good value
I have a section of roof & gutter that is shaded (on the north side of the house) in the winter months. During cold spells, the gutter freezes solid and ice dams can form on the roof. I installed the Frost King heat cable in the downspout, gutter, and over part of the roof and it performs very well, melting or avoiding the solid ice in the gutter and eliminating the ice dams on the roof. I ordered extra hardware because some reviews noted that the included mounting hardware may have not been enough. I did not have an issue - the included hardware was plenty for my installation (about half of the 60 feet was rooftop and half was gutter and downspout). Your mileage may vary, but I recommend reading the recommendations on the Frost King site if you have any doubts or questions. It has been working well for me (and survived the summer sun/heat just fine).

Seems to be working.
I think it is working. I will know when I get back to where in was where the pipes were freezing in 20 below wind chills. Should know by this weekend. Yes this worked very well!

These work great, glad I tried them
They melt ice fast , easily overnight, saves your roof and gutters. I like melting ice away on driveway and side walks . Great product.

Work well.
Work well to minimize ice dams but caution, your electric bill will increase the more you leave them on. ( I have 5 cables) Unplug when not in use. I have them but dont know if the temp sensitive plugs help.

Works like it should
I added this in a somewhat unconventional manner. I used metal duct (not duck) tape, the aluminum stuff, to secure it to the bottom of my metal gutter, looped it back and then ran it under the aluminum leaf guard, on top of the gutter mounting brackets, using cable ties to hold it in place. Then, I ran the end down the downspout and out the end by a few inches. I plug it in when the roof starts melting the snow, but the temp is still below freezing. It allows the gutter to stay open and the water to run out. NO ice dams this year !!!

Easy Install
This product was rather easy to install and works great. This has been a warmer winter than past years, but it still does the job and keeps ice out of the gutter and off the edges of the roof.

I've found that often times a timer is as useful as the temperature sensor for operation
I've owned several of these, and also install them for clients. These are not industrial grade, but for the price they do quit well. I've found that often times a timer is as useful as the temperature sensor for operation. These best work while it is snowing to melt snow into the gutters (also need heat tape in them) as opposed to after. Occasionally when a very large fast storms covers them they will not entirely melt out the roof as the snow 'bridges' over them and they will form an 8 inch 'tunnel around the cables. FYI- these use 5W per foot, so they will impact the electric bill. I have them on a time to run when the sun is hitting the roof, as colorado nights are generally well below freezing and these cables will not do much below 10f.

Worked well for one winter, doesn’t work this year
Bought 3 of these, all worked very well first winter. 1 of the 3 isn’t working this year and now I’m faced with trying to replace it when the roof is snowy and slippery. Not ideal.

Works well
Heats fast and works well. Was a bit hard to lay flat in colder temps since it's all coiled up tight like a spring when packaged.. Once heated tho, it settled down and flattened out. Probably have to flatten it out more after a few heat cycles and it relaxes a bit.. Works fast and melts ice quick in temps up to - 8C

Unsafe
Cable jacket isn't sufficient for its own heat, while unrolling cable peeled exposing wiring.
