Hinge Pin Door Stop, Satin Nickel

I bought a lot of these at a large hardware store a year and a half ago but as of this summer they stopped carrying them. We have them on every door in our home. Something undoubtedly would break if they were pushed on really hard, but so far they have held up to some shoving by our kids, and they avoid the damage to the door casing done by the other type of hinge-mounted door stop. You may not need them if you only have careful people operating your doors, but they're great for households with kids.

Bought to replace some old door stops. Easy to install, but needs some more notches to adjust - no options really between ~45 degrees and ~100 degrees. I had to add a little clear rubber cabinet bumper on the door frame to get it to a true 90 degrees. Luckily not really noticeable as it's against a wall in secondary bedroom.

Have three of them, they work great for us, love 'em! Got to use on doors to get rid of the traditional door-bumper, dog-leg hinge pin look. Also, put on one door to remove baseboard stop to make vacuuming easier. Smart Stops are on lower use doors...entrance closet, kitchen pantry, and door to master bedroom...that are seldom open to full extent and bedroom door stays open most of the time. And we have no kids. We haven't had any damage to frames and I like the sleek look vs the groves on the Don-Jo hinge pin heads.

It works well, but it does cut into the door frame.

This is a nice concept for a door stop and is easy to use. It doesn't damage the wood and is much less obvious than traditional "K" shaped stops. However, there are very few adjustments on the amount/angle of swing for the door. I purchased the stop for a 180 degree opening door and it doesn't work. Either the door opens ~150 degrees and blocks the walkway or the next adjustment allows the door knob to hit the wall. Look for other suppliers of this concept door stop that provide more fine adjustment.

I have these on many doors in my house. Saves walls and furniture from damage.

The Hinge Pin Door Stop met our expectations and serves it purpose very well.
