Working great so far, but I'm being careful...
The "Clic Stic Universal Camera Handle for Digital Point and Shoot Cameras and Camcorders" has to be the most extensive title of any of the equipment I've purchased in a while! :D Hey, at least the title is descriptive...First of all, I purchased this based on price. I'm not sure how rugged it really is, but I figured that if it broke, I wouldn't be out a whole lot of money. I can handle that.As the title clearly states, this handle is intended for point and shoot cameras or small camcorders. I have no doubt that it's strong enough for that task and will supply the stability that those kind of cameras lack. However, that's not what I'm using it for...I own a DSLR shoulder rig for my Canon 5D Mk. II and 60D. The rig has one heavy-duty handle on the front that supports roughly half the weight (the other half, of course, is supported by the shoulder rails.) This design leaves one hand free for focusing the camera or adjusting zoom. Unfortunately, the rig is freaking heavy and can be a bit wobbly if I'm moving around. I attached the Clic Stic to the rails at an angle near the front of the rig to hold when I'm not using my free hand to operate the camera. While the description reads "Designed to firmly hold and stabilize all Digital Cameras and Camcorders", I doubt this is what they had in mind. ;) I don't use the handle to bear much weight... just to give a little lateral support. So far, so good! BUT, I'm not putting that much pressure on it. I wouldn't suggest you try to, either. If you're actually using this for a small camera, you should be fine, but a little caution never hurt. Wrap the strap around your wrist and avoid carrying the camera around by just the grip. Only use it when actually taking a picture or video.Hope that helps!

Does What It is suppose to do... sorta...
This product is pretty useless. I find I get far more control of my camera when I actually hold it than try to use this.I just do not see the point of the product. However, this is a review of the product, and I think it does the job its suppose to do, but it is uncomfortable to hold as it is hard plastic. No, I would not recommend this product to a friend.

No big deal but for the price ...
Came today in the mail. Entire thing is plastic including the screw. So there's a possibility that the screw may break off. Has a reasonable weight to the handle which makes it a little more sturdy. Good grip size. I use it for my gopro. Fits the tripod mount. Can't complain for the price. Cheapest I could find for a handle for the gopro.

Great little device...
As a professional photographer I'm used to using two hands to hold up a pretty big camera. But when I got my tiny 4.3 oz 16MP Fujifilm JX400, which is about 3.75 inches by 2, I found it almost too small to use. Fingers that automatically cradle my DSLR with precision became clumsy sausages that kept obstructing the flash. And I felt like I was going to drop it at any moment, thumbs and forefingers are not a good way to get good pictures. The inexpensive Clic Stic [I found it for six bucks and change, with free shipping - thanks Mel Pierce Camera] is four inches long and one inch wide at the bottom, which is plenty big enough, screws into the tripod mount perfectly and makes handling the cam much more secure. The only time I take the handle off the camera is when I use the tripod, then I put it back. It's made of textured plastic that provides a good grip. The screw head is plastic, too, which I wondered about at first, but it's strong enough. (And of course, since you're handling a delicate and lightweight camera, it would be silly [to say the least] to over-torque it to the point of breaking.)Some reviewers elsewhere complain that the thing isn't substantial enough, that it should be larger. But that's not true for a small camera. It only adds 1.2 oz to the weight of the camera, so WITH the Clic Stic the cam still weighs less than my phone! Buy it!!!!FYI: There is a similar handle called CamGrip that maybe looks like a better item in the pic, but another reviewer reveals that it is only 3 and 3/8" long...I think that would be too small.

Plastic, and brittle at that.
The threads broke off just tightening it down. Snapped right off, not to mention having to dig out the broken piece out of the threaded hole. I guess this grip might work for a super light weight little point and shoot or something. I had assumed the grip was plastic but that the threading would be metal. The whole unit is one piece of brittle plastic. Beware.

it works
It works, but it is not a good quality thing. It is cheap. It has a plastic screw and grip.

great for Kodak ZX5
The media could not be loaded. This is a device which holds your camera firmly so you can see the screen without the obstruction of your hand. It's a very lightweight device (feels almost hollow), but I wish there was a way that the metal part wouldn't be exposed so you could carry it in your pocket, so nothing would get scratched. Once the price becomes over 10 dollars though, it's time to look at a better monopod.

Simple but great invention!
I recently walked in a parade and knew I'd love to get photos along the way. The 'Clic Stic' handle was ideal for this situation. I've seen similar designs that were more plush, but this item has proved itself worth it's cost. I'm taking a trip to Disney World soon and this item is certain to get packed!
