The chair arrived very quickly and was remarkably light. However it's also very solid, especially for someone as tall and heavy as I am. In addition to all of this I find the chair very comfortable!

These are solidly made chairs for obese people. They are not especially attractive but they are not cheap-looking either. They are noticeably wider than most chairs and they look, frankly, "fat". Some people have laughed when they saw them because their "bariatric" function is obvious. They certainly are not cheaply-made however. . The seats are comfortable, the fabric is basic and far from fancy but again, it just works. . I purchased 30 of them for a weight loss clinic and they perform admirably. Now all of our chairs match and all of them are bariatric. This eliminates the embarrassment of an obese patient needing to deliberately select the sole "fat chair" in the lobby while the "skinny" people take the small chairs. Now everybody gets a "fat chair". Anyway, this is furniture sold at a truly fair price. If you have the need for these chairs, you'll save hundreds of dollars per chair over most "bariatric" chairs.

I tip the scales at 400 pounds, so it's almost impossible to find a comfortable chair that lasts very long. I can safely say this chair is well built, and will be with me for a long time. It also has good padding, and in just the right spots. My old chairs were never very comfortable (Which is surprising, since they were considered plus sized office chairs), and I was constantly adding pillows or throws to conform to my body a little better. This chair is simple in design, and great just the way it is. We have wood floors, so scratching is always a concern. The rubber feet on this chair looks safe, although I did add a layer of felt just to be sure. The back of the chair is surprisingly low, so it's not one that you'll be putting your feet up with. When I lean back, it comes to the bottom of my shoulder blade. When my back gets tight, it's just the right height to lean back and stretch out the tight muscles over the back of the chair. The reviewer who mentioned the problem with the metal on the front frame hit it dead on. Although you can't see it in the picture, the metal supporting the cushion hooks to the main seat on both sides and is uncomfortable to the bare legs. If you wear shorts, you'll want to make sure to throw something on the chair to avoid getting scratched. This chair only has two minor flaws, and a lot going for it. I'd definitely recommend it to any plus sized person looking for a good chair.

It's a sturdy chair but the back needs to be up straighter for me.causes a little back strain

The metal frame is shiny, and the seat cover is textured black speckled with white. This well-made chair is wide and deep which gives me much more support. I can sit for hours playing games with my friends. (I am a normal sized woman with a bad back.) I pair them with a wood dining table in my kitchen. Plus, they are stackable and come fully assembled.

I bought this chair for a replacement and easier seat to get up out of for my computer (my old seat was a quickly deteriorating foot stool with extra cushions salvaged from an old chair and a large Pier 1 pillow to make up most of the height difference). While this solved one problem, getting me up higher so it was easier to get up and down and it wasn't sliding back each time I move, it is less comfortable, and after a few weeks of owning it, I am already looking for another cushion to supplement, and hopefully cover the protruding steel tubing that is on the front legs of the chair. It seems the manufacturer doesn't understand, that most heavy set/obese people, don't sit "normally", with their legs together and facing perfectly straight forward. Fort hat matter, most normal people I know don't sit like crash test dummies in any chair that is made. If these pieces of tubing were rounded down or in at the front corners into a nice radius, it would make the whole seat a great deal more comfortable, as it wouldn't be digging into the back of my thighs and knees, and indeed, even rounding the front of the seat downward some would make it considerably more comfortable, without sacrificing strength of the materials. A better grade of foam woulds also be advisable, since this foam has already started to become less resilient. While this may not have been designed as a task chair or whatever, even for short duty as a chair used in a conference or arena setting, I don't think it would be comfortable for very long, for most people.
