Up top there
Work well. They hurt your ankles so make sure you have a good solid sturdy logger boot to use these with.

Not healthy
I am a tree climber of regular tree climber's spikes including Gecko and Buckingham.I didn't get 2' off the ground while using these spikes as they tend to push your feet out away from the tree as your climbing. It's just the way it works out by default. If you think about it and you have these on your boot( You can not wear these spikes with just shoes), when you kick it into the tree it just automatically pushes your foot out away from the tree just a few inches but it's not good for your ankles at all! Regular tree spikes for tree climbers do the same thing they push your feet out and your knees out away from the tree as you're climbing again by default. But these little spikes just by the way they attach to only your feet are just not good. Professional tree spikes reach almost up to just under your knees. But these little spikes barely make it higher than the top of a hiking boot if at all above. Just not good for your feet, this is the bottom line. To add, the ones that I purchased I got them from Bass Pro Shops. I was so enthusiastic to get home put them on and try them. Once I did put them on and tried them I was extremely frustrated and disappointed As it was gonna take me at least an hour and 15 minutes of my time, to go back and return those things. So *you're welcome*, as I'm gonna save you the headache of buying those spikes for nothing and having to go back and return them taking your time and everything.

but these are a great way to do get it done
I'll tell you what, I've never used the professional version of these, but these are a great way to do get it done. I've used them on a few tree types now, and they've worked just fine. The only thing you'll need to do is pad where they want to dig into your inner calf

great on pine trees not oak
great on pine trees not oak. I just started a tree service and i started with these. it got me in pine ok and after my first job, i got the professional grade spurs of over $350. it is the difference between climbing with tent stakes and a nail.. . If your on a hard budget and have to have something, it will get you going. do not be afraid to take a hand file to sharpen the points and inspect after and before each climb

cheep modifications to work
If you buy this product you have to modify them you have to drill holes and add 6 inches to them they are too hard on you inner ankles to climb but once you modify them the only dig in big bark trees you can climb small bark trees but they dig real deep into small bark trees it makes a real deep hole in the tree i think it will hurt the small bark trees again you have to modify these to get to work chep mods get you some steel 2 inch wide 3/8 thick and 6 or 8 inches long drill 2 holes in the gaff and three holes in the metal get you 6 1/4 inch bolts that are 1 inch long and 12 washers and 6 lock nuts after that they work great you have to drill and put 1/4 inch bolts in and add 6 inches of metal to get them to work but work great after that still cheaper than the others mods only costs me 10 dollars for the bolts and the metal hope this will help wish I could of added a pic to give you an example

Missing parts, you won’t be running up a tree
Missing calf straps, critical part to even use the things. Had the parts to make my own so it wasn’t even worth the time to try to get them. Bottom line, they can’t even put the simple components together that you pay for. Also, if you think you’ll scamper up a tree with these, you won’t. I’ve climbed, rigged, and topped enough trees with real climbing spurs to know how they work. These are painfully uncomfortable and they don’t even come sharpened for a decent bite. I had to take a cut off wheel with my 4” grinder and hit the INSIDE! of the spur. Don’t grind the outside as it changes the angle you need to have your feet.
