I have updated my review to 4 stars for two reasons.. #1 is the customer service was terrific. They were quick to respond to me review and then subsequent emails between us. They happily replaced a grinder with a new one, even though my time to return had expired. #2 I received it today and it works!I don't know if Orange Ovals had different products, I have to check this out, but if they do I will definitely purchase from them over a different company because of their customer service.No matter which grinder I use I can not get it to grind the salt. I have tried the adjustment feature and different brands of salt but it still does not work. I'm disappointed because I love the look and ease of using them. I bought it two months ago so too late to try for a replacement but from the reviews it looks like it half and half about working.

So far I like this product be cause it does what it suppose to do and it looks stylish in my kitchen, I purchased my 1st pair and used it for a while and it works great, so I ordered 2nd for my mother. :) I like the fact the has 4 AA Batteries that will last for a while, the setup is easy, filling the glass portion is also without any problems. It really not much to say I fill it put the batteries in put it together and press the button and it works. :)

I’ve had these grinders for a few years now. I think they are decent quality for the price. They look nice sitting on my counter. The batteries, although they do take several, last a really time. I think I’ve only had to replace the batteries once or twice. I originally was looking for something that I could use one handed while I’m cooking and have messy hands, but now that I’ve had these awhile and compared them to hand cranked grinders, I prefer a hand cranked grinder. It’s much faster to hand grind. This salt grinder gets clogged with salt dust all of the time. It’s a pain to take part and clean all the dust out. I would have to do this every few months or so. When the salt grinder is working, it grinds the salt really quickly making it difficult to not over salt. Also, the lid or cap on the bottom of the salt grinder doesn’t stay on. Every time I pick it up, the cap falls off, so I have to hold it in place. I went to go pass someone the salt at dinner one time and the cap fell in her food. I don’t have this issue with the cap on the pepper. The issue I have with the pepper grinder is that it takes FOREVER to grind the amount of pepper I want at a time. I’m getting rid of these and going back to regular hand cranked grinders. These are the only electric/battery operated grinders I’ve tried so I don’t know how these compare to others.

Immediately after I submitted my review on Amazon, the company contacted me and offered a full refund for the product. They apologized for the inconvenience and were determined to make things right. I had the refund within a few days. This IS customer service and this is the type of support that will drive me back to this seller. I’ll give them and the product another look.In a home with empty-nester, these didn’t last six months before all the cheap parts broke. They are completely unusable. Poorly engineered with cheap parts. Save your money.

My wife and I both love the looks of this so we bought a set for our kitchen. About 4 months after the salt grinder was unable to grind salt and just made a grinding noise. I changed the batteries hoping it was just low on battery power. The grinder functioned the same. So I figured it was just a bad set and bought another set. The salt grinder again stopped working but this time it stopped 2 weeks after purchase. I contacted their service department. I was advised I would receive a call back in 1-2 business days. It has been a week. Needless to say I've learned my lesson with this grinder and the company that makes them. Hopefully you don't choose to waste your time, money and patience on this list cause of a company.

No instructions but was able to set it up. Size adjustment for grind didn’t work for getting slightly coarser grind until I took it apart and manually exercised the spring free it from the finest setting. Works well now but occasionally get pepper corns trapped causing loud scary clanking until the corn begins to crack. Otherwise I and my arthritic hand appreciate the ease of use, also like the small funnel for loading.Addendum: not good! Motor doesn't have enough power to crack a pepper corn or even scrape dust off of a corn. You can watch the drive shaft try but doesn't turn no matter what you set for grind size. Doesn’t even work after cleaning and setting for dust sized output. I’m very mechanically gifted and have tried to fix but nothing is broken internally, the motor is just too weak. Fresh batteries don’t help. I’m very disappointed and would not recommend.

Battery powered and easy to use.

These are a game changer !! When you are cooking, just grabbing one of these salt or pepper grinders is soooo easy. The button on the top is all you need to press. It quickly begins to grind a steady stream of salt or pepper. One is able to adjust the coarseness on the bottom of the unit. There is also a light that illuminates exactly where you are placing the spice.The 4 AA batteries last about 3-4 mos. depending on your personal use and are easy to put into the grinder. I usually refill the grinders with the spices once every 4-5 wks. on average.I originally had a similar brand of these and was soooooo frustrated with the salt and pepper getting ‘stuck’ in the grinder’s gears and not working... Plus the batteries were AAA and needed to be replaced quite frequently. I hesitantly bought this set, and wow, what a difference !! My previous set was just blahhhh - barely tolerable - but these are just perfect. I am truly thinking of giving these as gifts in the future as I am so impressed with both the long-lasting quality and appearance of these grinders !! :)

I use full pepper corn an Himalayan salt has hard time to grind. Update after further use salt grinder gears stripped . Product cheap

Love to use as it’s easy and battery operated so it’s no brainer. Looks expensive and very impressive to me. Will recommend to buy for those who cooks a lot.

I will never buy them again. The pepper grinder got broken on 3rd usage. The overall design is out of proportion ( I do understand mechanical needs for the design)- huge head and tiny part of pepper/ salt.
