Died in four years. Replacement uses different mechanism.
This is a replacement for a virtually identical one I had in the shower for 17 years.Pros: Easy to read numbers -- even without my glasses. Classic style. Rubber gaskets front and back that keep out water and moisture. Doesn't fog up. After all those years in the shower, it never had one speck of mold or any sign that moisture had seeped inside. It has a hole on the back that goes over a screw or hanger in your wall instead of the suction cups typical on many shower accessories -- therefore it doesn't "let go" and fall clattering into the shower/tub in the middle of the night.Cons: No suction cups, so you do have to put an anchor/screw into the wall. (An advantage to me, but just be warned.)UPDATE, july 2014 -- now dead. Sad that it didn't last longer -- maybe even sadder, I'm buying another because I can't find anything that seems better.UPDATE, August 2014 -- I note that the new one has a different clockwork. The case is the same, but the new number on the rear of the clock is different, and the inside of the mechanism is a different brand. The old clock model is 8347-W (and the W is hand-written over what appears to be a printed 11, with innards made by Rhythm Watch Co; the new mechanism is by Shinfuku. The model number sticker on the new one is 8347-10. So maybe they used an inferior replacement to fill in when they couldn't get the one they wanted? Here's hoping the new one lasts longer.

I really love this clock
I really love this clock and I'm so happy I got it. I needed a new bathroom clock after my old one finally decided to die a slow death. I looked at several on the site. I wanted a simple, easy to read, moisture proof clock...and it had to be silent. My bathroom is right next to my bedroom and although the ticking of the old clock didn't bother me most of the time, on the nights that I had trouble sleeping, that ticking might as well have been a jackhammer! So annoying. The dimensions on this are smaller than my old one, so I was a bit wary that it might be too small. I was wrong. It's the perfect size. It looks much better than the old one. I've had it a couple of months and it has not lost any time, runs silently, looks nice, clean and simple and is super clear to read. It's everything I had hoped for. My Amazon purchases have been hit or miss lately, but this one is definitely a winner.

Outdoor Clock Rocks!!!!
I love this clock. I ordered two. I am sure this clock would be perfect for your shower. I use these outside. I have one on a tree in my garden and one on a tree in my front yard. I use them to watch the time when I am watering or just need to know when it's time to stop working in the yard/garden. I had one of these clocks on a tree in my former back-yard for over twenty years. We sold it with the house. Searched for this clock everywhere and finally found it on Amazon. This clock has never leaked, of course, the batteries do need to be changed but not very often. I put this clock outside and never brought it in for over twenty years, what a record. The hooks on the tree had to be changed periodically because the tree growth would begin to consume them. I highly recommend this clock as "water-proof" although it is marketed as "water-resistant". I guess if you threw it in a bucket of water for a while it might not be "water-proof" but to use outside it is perfect.

Warranty? Accuracy?
Overall, I like this clock but have a couple of issues regarding it.Like other reviewers have already stated, the clock is silent and it is easy to see. However, why did the manufacturer make it so difficult to see the proper insertion method for the AA battery? Why couldn't the positive side have been marked with a white label? (I guessed correctly how to insert it.) Hopefully, the mechanism cannot be damaged by inserting the battery incorrectly but I don't know if that's the case. How long will an alkaline battery last in this clock? What about a lithium battery? This leads me to my next issue...The clock came with no documentation. Yes, I know this is just a clock and it is not difficult to operate. But, what happens if the battery is inserted backwards? Also, what is the warranty on the clock? Does it have a warranty? What do I do if it fails in six months? What is the accuracy specification for the clock? (How much time will it gain or lose in 30 days?)Hopefully, this proves to be a reliable timepiece but I find it odd that a clock of this cost does not seem to have any support behind it.

Perfect bathroom clock - Except it doesn't work
I wanted a small clock for a small space on the bathroom wall between the mirror and the door frame. This clock fits perfectly. It is quiet (no ticking). The frame color and design, and style of clock is just perfect. It isn't often that I find something that's functionally and visually exactly what I had in mind. Did I say it was perfect?Update: after about a week, the clock stopped working. We replaced the battery. It worked for a while, then stopped again. After doing this routine for the third time, I'm sending it back. Disappointed as it was just what I wanted but what good is a clock that doesn't work?
