Powerful and eye opening revelations of myself
While I sometimes found the message jarring, I realized that this may be the point. It was my self wanting to preserve itself. Roy Highlights the reality that for many, including myself, Christ or Christianity can merely be tools to promote one self as a good and worthy of admiration. And in so doing, Christ cannot have dominion in a life utterly focused on itself. My only disagreement comes from some of his comments on emotions. He seems to characterize any emotion such as grief or anger as indicative that we are somehow sinning or separated from God. I find this problematic since God both wept and was angry in scripture and also would not give such counsel to a person struggling with clinical depression. Similarly, I think anger can be used constructively if that anger is steered towards realizing that someone is being diminished and being filled with anger at that diminishing of humanity. This can then be channeled to positively change the circumstances of those around us. Again, Jesus expressed anger when he saw the treatment of temple visitors in the temple. His anger led to Him calling out the injustices and extortion taking place, and calling for a change of heart.Overall, I found some deeply impactful insights in this book that will cause me to be much more wary and on the look out for manifestations of self on my dealings with others and my motivations for doing things. I would recommend this to any Christian who has grown tired of dissatisfied in their experience, especially if you are a burned out leader (like myself). Christ wishes to create a revival in you.

Amazing!
This is an amazing classic book filled with timeless truths somehow long undiscovered in many believers in the church today. Only Jesus can live his righteousness through broken believers that accept their true position before him. Thank you Roy for boldly proclaiming humility and it's necessity in the Christian walk!

I praise Jesus for the work of His saints and books like this that never loose meaning no matter how long ago it was written.

Take a Road Trip
This book has brought profound new insights into my personal relationship with God and his son, Jesus Christ. I would encourage people to take a "road trip" and read this book. It will change your perspective on what revival really means and where it begins.

Must read, over and over
Our pastor did some weekly sermons referencing this book so I decided to read it. It helps me every time I lose the nearness of God and the Holy Spirit. It makes me realize it is my sin, even when I donβt realize Iβm winning, that causes this distance. Iβve read it 3 or 4 times already and will continue as needed.

Such a powerful book!
The Calvary Road is such a powerful book. It is filled with practical applications for repentance and brokenness at the Cross of Jesus Christ. βTo be broken is the beginning of revival. It is painful and it is humiliating, but it is the only way. It is saying, βIt is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in meβ (Gal. 2:20), and a βCβ is a bent βI.ββ

Excellent
A wonderful book that causes one to look at their own life to see the hindrances of Godβs working in them and through them, and the steps needed to help bring about the change necessary in our personal lives before God.

A book to live by...
Here is a book that needs to be read regularly, so we can remind ourselves that we need forgiveness before anything else. What an essential message. I found this book very useful.

The wife loves the edifying narrative
My wife asked me to order this book for her as she read it many years ago and lost her copy of the book. So desirous was she to read the book again that she has me order it from Amazon - she is blessed by these words of faith and hope in this hedonistic and self-absorbed society.
