Nice little paring knife. I purchased the knife to use in place for a folding blade knife because I didn't want to deal with food contamination. Cut through an apple, onion, bell pepper, and beef stick like expected. the grip has a good tactile feel to it at the index finger location. The knife was quite sharp, but I feel like the coating on the blade made the knife edge thicker than it would have been without. The knife comes with a hard plastic sheath that is great for the pack, but there is no clip or anything securing the sheath to the blade (other than friction). No matter in my case, I added a hook-and-loop (velcro) attachment to my utensils case which secured the knife to the sheath.

We use this knife frequently, every time we camp. It seems to dull fairly quickly, but that's to be expected at this price point. Also, it can be hard to keep the inside of the cover clean and dry. We have two grade-school age kids and the camp kitchen is a busy place. I like to put the cover on immediately after use for safety. While I wipe it clean, it's not spotless and so I wonder what gunk may be transferring to the inside of the cover.It's not a huge deal, just something to be aware of.

This review is for both the knife and Amazon. When I ordered this with some other items, it wasn't shipped. I contacted Amazon, and they sent a replacement immediately, no questions asked. (Love Amazon!) As far as the knife, it's super lightweight and seems very sharp. I like too that it has a safety guard. I have a lot of GSI products and they all have taken a lot of abuse with little to no ill effect, so I'm expecting the same from this. We'll see how it holds up over time, and I'll update the review.

Wow, I was really impressed with this knife. It is extremely lightweight so can be used when hiking. The blade is very sharp, but also wide enough to spread peanut butter. and it has a safety sleeve that fits over the blade so it won't cut it's way out of the "silverware baggie" when hiking, camping or just picnicking. And ergonomically, it feels really good in my hand. I've used it as a paring knife, steak knife, butter knife and love it.

I had received my item the day after i ordered it, opened it and was surprised by how sharp it was. I’m very happy about the fast shipping and great product.

Very light and sharp. I see this strictly as a food service knife. Not full tang and doesn't claim to be. Light weight so does not effect overall backpack weight very much at all.

This is a nice little camping knife for a cook set that I already have that is also gsi. I carry a knife but there's something I like about keeping a knife for utility and then this one for food preparation.

I purchased this knife for use in our camper cooking gear. I love it! Its plenty sharp and easily cuts meats or veggies, and fits comfortably in my hand. I like it so well I'm thinking about getting another for the house.
