42W LED Security Light with Photocell Sensor 120V White Finish Amax Lighting LED-SL42WH

Had this light for a few years now for use in the parking area behind our business. Photocell has since failed (which causes the light to flash on and off) and white housing has turned yellow. However, this lighting has still been great for us.To solve the failing photocell problem, we taped over it to block light (which essentially bypasses it). At that point the light will be on permanently and can be controlled by a standard light switch. We ended up adding an external, heavy duty photocell which has worked perfectly for years now! To resolve yellowing of the housing, we simply sprayed it with white paint. If you buy this light you must expect their cheap sensor to fail and housing to go yellow. Be prepared to work around these issues. In my opinion, it was worth it because the light itself is actually very reliable.All that being said, the LED light itself has worked excellently through heat waves, thunder storms and cold weather (unlike florescent lighting). The brightness has not diminished in any way. Best of all, it sips power and we never have to change a bulb! I consider it to be much more reliable and brighter than the florescent lighting we had before and would buy this product again. If you can deal with the minor problems, this fixture delivers best bang for the buck! Especially if you do not want to spend hundreds extra on outdoor lighting solutions that would only deliver similar results.

I bought this light 7 months ago...worked great. Now flashes on and off. No longer working. No where the 50,000 hours the product boasts of lasting. Very CHEAP and the seller has been impossible to contact. Sent 2 messages (the first 20 days ago...still no answer). I will not be buying from this seller or AMAX lighting again.

Spend the extra money and get a better light. Very cheap construction and photo cell failed after three-four month. And still battling with Customer Service to get the fixture replaced. Giant pain and very frustrating. Save the hassle and buy another light.

Absolute Chinese-made garbage. I've wasted time and money buying two of these and they've each failed after just a few months of use - but of course always after it's too late to return it. The light is great - very bright. But if the thing fails after a few months of use, what's the point? Save your money, spend a bit more for an American-made product that you can buy once and buy right. That's what I've done and now, no more failing made in China lights.

I have bought three of them. The first lasted about 1 year before flashing. 2nd lasted about 6 months and started flashing. The third has been up about two weeks and so far so good. Generally, the light is good but quality is lacking.

Easy to install, except for the four clips they put in the box without explanation. Instructions provided need to be improved. These clips are apparently to hold the lens tighter so rain does not penetrate the housing. Why not just use a gasket? Anyway, the light is bright, and it is a big dude, at about 12" width. Wherever you install this light, make sure size doesn't matter. I may sound negative, but I like this light so far.

Many of the other 1 star reviews are correct, the light doesn't come with a ground and it's poorly constructed so it will fail at some point. Avoid.

Worked for ca. 3 years, taking in water the whole time, eventually started being intermittent then died completely. Might be useful for indoors or non rainy locations.
