Is it sturdy enough and is the angle comfortable for typing?

It is very sturdy. I have even moved the table it was on while DJing with little to no sway. As for comfort it depends on the table you are setting it on. The angle it holds it at would put the keyboard of most laptops at an angle similar to a normal desktop keyboard propped up on it's back risers. I think it's fine.
