Fluval EDGE Bamboo Wall with Plant Baskets Aquarium Ornament

I like this product for it's appearance and adding some plants and solid walls in the spot where the filter outflow is will break up the intensity of the flow and keep my fish from stressing out, thus allowing them to explore more of the tank comfortably (I have an Edge 6 and the ONLY canister filter that works with it is a little.. intense.) That being said I do have some gripes about the product. I read in another review that the paint on the item will chip once waterlogged and this is an absolute no no. Best way to avoid that is to cover the painted parts in a 2 part epoxy and allow it to dry completely before adding to the tank. A spray polyurethane clear coat would be preferable simply for ease of application but I have my doubts I'll be able to find that where I live.I do intend to add a few shrimp to the tank once it has established algae growth, and as such I use the foam filter intake cover which I'm not totally sure will fit behind the deco wall... Guess I'll either have to get creative and cut it to a more appropriate shape or just smoosh it a bit and hope it doesn't push the wall forward in the tank. If you have heavy gravel this shouldn't be an issue, I am using a pretty fine grain though... So fingers crossed.

This piece adds a lot of interest to my tank, and hides the filter beautifully. I didn't keep up with the maintenance at first, and got some algae going on it. There are nooks and crannies that are hard to clean, and the finish comes off. That surprised me because it's plastic. No apparent leaching in to the tank, but I found I rubbed off some of the color. I'm more gentle now, but it still loses color very easily.There are sharp edges and my beta ripped his tail up a bit. I pushed gravel up against it and he has been OK since.The "baskets" are very very small. I have some live plants that are also small but can't swing the little area. I'd hesitate to put artificial in there, because the way this piece fits in the tank it gets a lot of light. Light=algae

This product is the perfect addition to the Fluval Edge 6 gallon aquarium. It fits 3 small live plants perfectly and covers the heater and filter. We used the suggestion of many Fluval edge owners and went with a higher grade heater (still fluval) but not the weaker unit meant for the 'edge' aquarium. Our heater is still hidden nicely behind the frosted glass. This product is the perfect center piece and I feel units without it look rather empty. The product comes in 2 colors and its hard to know which one your getting by the pictures, but you can't go wrong with either. I would consider this a must have for the Fluval Edge.**Update**Although I originally was very pleased with this product, I wound up fighting to keep my plants planted in the "pots" provided. The plants move every time you clean the water, which winds up uprooting them from the small and shallow containers provided. Additionally, after about 2 months, I noticed that the paint on the product was beginning to chip. I also noticed that I was mysteriously losing algae eaters that had been flourishing previously. I removed the planter, and the fish stopped dying. I would not recommend this product, especially if you like your algae eaters!

I purchased this item from seven seas aquariums and the item came to me broken. I called them, and as soon as I knew it they told me they'd have another shipped out as fast as possible. Thirty minutes to an hour later Fed Ex received my package. To say the least I was very happy with customer service.As for the product, it's a very sleek looking addition to any tank. It is however intended to be used for the new Fluval Edge Aquariums. It's designed to fit right in the back middle part of the Fluval tank where it covers the filter. It has three different places where you can put plants or bamboo to accent the decoration. I've also hidden my bubbler behind it which makes the tank that much more put together.Watch out for some sellers who are selling this item for $27 but the shipping cost is $44 or something astronomical. All in all it's a very cool product and I highly recommend it.

It looks very good in the Fluval Edge 6 Gallon aquarium, and hides the filter and heater very well. It's hard to reach past when cleaning the tank though, and as others have encountered, I cannot get an Otocinclus to live for more than a week. Cories, barbs, and whiteclouds don't have a problem, but it seems like there is something in this that kills otos as soon as they start to graze algae growing on it.Look for very small base plants to insert into the openings and you will really enjoy the look.

This decoration looks really good. It has a cutout on the back panel that will allow a longer filter pick up tube to fit nicely but still allow for good we’re flow

I have had my Fluval Edge for over a year, and I love it. One of the main reasons I love it is this Bamboo Wall. It looks awesome! It also makes keeping live plants so much easier. It hides the filter tube in the back and looks very modern and edgy (ha!) in the aquarium. I did have to replace it once as the first one started to look pretty bad after about a year. The paint will eventually come off (most decorations do) but it last for a long time.I had the aquarium without the Bamboo Wall for just a short time but it just didn't look nearly as good. I love it! I highly recommend this for your fluval edge!!!

This accent looks nice in the aquarium but I would not recommend it if you have the Fluval Edge aquarium. It is a pain to get in and out of the tank and it makes it hard to clean the tank because it is right below the hole in the top of the Fluval Edge taking up a lot of space. I finally took it out of my tank and the paint was starting to chip off. Not the best construction either. The glass always wiggled and some of my fish got stuck between it and the back wall. I give it one star but I would hardly recommend it. Your better off with natural things like rock.
