Glad I chose this notebook
In order for me to retain remembering the characters, writing them out did the trick. Of course along with reading ect. However, since the writing and going back to read the characters I wrote on a regular basis is part of my learning path, I wanted to enjoy it as much as I could, therefore the aesthetics and quality of the writing grid was important to me. The notebook has 123 pages, each with a grid of seven box's horizontal and nine box's vertical each one inch square, also there is a 1/8 inch gap between each of the box's both vertically and horizontally. Each grid box has nine tiny box;s in them that are slightly lighter in color, this is a nice feature. The cover has a nice picture on the front and back, and the notebook as a slight bit of "heft" to it so it does NOT feel flimsy. The quality of the notebook affects the way I write the characters, I want to take my time and do my best, unlike cheapo notebooks.

Pixelated cover.
The large note book has the image blown up so large that it's pixelated

As Expected
Very happy with this. I am learning Mandatin and this makes writing the characters much easier.

Exactly what I needed
I bought this to help with my university course and it's brilliant. The squares are set out with lines to help beginners get the strokes in the correct places. There is plenty of room in each square so your characters are not cramped and small, I have found that little bit of extra room a great help in learning. The book was larger and thicker than I thought I thought would be and that's great. The paper is nice and bright and of good quality.I will certainly be buying more.

Lovely notebook
This a an excellent writing book- it has the large squares which I didn't really want but have found I can use them to write smaller characters within. The large squares are broken into smaller. I like to use the first one to practice then for more fluency I copy into smaller squares. Some copy books have the broken diagonal lines so you can only really write bigger. If you are a beginner then the bigger squares are perfect.

Get graph paper if you just want to practice
A lot bigger squares than needed. Simple graph paper does the trick better and is cheaper unless you are practising calligraphy.
