Pointless distribution method
To be honest, I struggle to give this 3 stars. Not to say the product doesn't deliver what is promised; it does. However, all you are really buying here is a serial number. The package I received contained 2 DVD's. As near as I can tell, all they were good for was to install Steam. The actual games were downloaded via the internet to the tune of several gigabytes. I'll admit to being a little "steamed" (horrible pun intended) that I had to wait a few days for a serial number that could have been provided electronically, and then wait another hour or so for the game to download before I could play, even though the game resided on the discs I got in the mail. Oh, and Steam is installed as a service that runs in the background, *all the time*. And be prepared for updates...large, slow updates.Ultimately, the games play and play well. But the distribution method here is simply not as advertised; the games are delivered via the internet, not the discs you receive. As long as you are prepared for this absurdity, buy with confidence.

Great games, Hate Steam
Yes these three games are great. Even though they were made years ago. What's not great is Valve's "Steam" program that slaves this box set. Get this; you can't play the games as stand alone games. You have to go through steam, which talks to it's server first, to even play them. The install was horrible too. I live in an area with substandard internet. Steam won't even install unless your computer is connected to the web. Before you can install the games Steam has to install itself and then update itself. When that's done you have to start over. Then if you don't have enough room for all the games (five, including all the different versions of Half Life) you have to make room because Steam only lets you choose which games to install after it's determined there's enough room for everything! Now, once you've cleared room for everything and only installed the games you want, you can play right? Wrong. Now Steam has to update the games before it lets you play. Kinda jacked up considering the games were totally playable before the updates came out.

Steam updates!!!
I got this very quickly and was happy on how it arrived. Although, when my daughter tried to install it onto her computer, she went onto Steam like she expected and it begun to install. It then said completed and she tried to play one of the games. It wasn't letting her because it was doing updates that had a sum of 10.5GB! It was ridiculous as no one uses the internet in the house, she has a limited internet that caps at 15GB. She couldn't possibly download these updates so she asked a friend who has unlimited. Still, this is a little ridiculous as the product doesn't warn you of this. The whole reason we ordered it online so we could avoid downloading the miraculously huge updates etc. Just a warning for anyone buying this.Great price!
